- Discovered by chance in 1919 by famed Broadway actress Marjorie Rambeau who came to the Wilkes Theater in Salt Lake City with a touring company of "The Eyes of Youth." It seems she replaced a young actor with the inexperienced Stanton when she discovered he could cry on cue. He joined the Wilkes Theater stock company as a result.

- According to Esther Williams's biography, Stanton died suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of sixteen. One day after a hearty Sunday lunch, he complained of stomach numbness. A doctor was summoned but he got lost and never made it to the house. In the process of normal digestion, Stanton's intestine became blocked and his colon burst. He died the same evening.
