When her film career ended her husband didn't want her to work anymore, she she began writing books, mostly inspirational and motivational.
Wilson left film production when she married Otto Meeks, the owner of a ranching empire. She later became a writer of self-help and motivational books.
In Hollywood from 1914, under contract to D.W. Griffith at Majestic-Realart. By 1920 she was writing, producing and directing her own films.
Established her own theatrical company at age 16.
