If you didn’t think that Ally “accidentally” shooting Pedro would instantly turn her into a media figure and social pariah, you obviously haven’t been watching the news lately. Or at any point in the last five years.

Tuesday’s American Horror Story: Cult marks Billy Eichner’s arrival on the street — but will he and his wife make things difficult for Ally and Ivy? (Sorry if bad puns are among your phobias. This recap could’ve used a trigger warning.)
Anyway… Picking up right where the premiere left off, Ally turns over to find a clown in her bed — don’t you hate when that happens?! — sending her into a damn frenzy. (Though, to be fair, “frenzied” is pretty much Ally’s resting state.) After giving their bedroom a thorough examination, knife in hand, Ivy determines that...

We celebrate the work of M.R. James, whose eerie ghost stories were made into a festive tradition by the BBC...
A shadow lurking just beyond the edge of the vision. Dusty manuscripts bearing fragments of ancient testimony, conflicting and confounding. The sickening touch of a decayed hand, grasping at us from the darkness. The imagery of the ghost story may differ between cultures, but the sense of creeping dread left by the most effective tales remains universal.

Few movies this year will be more aesthetically satisfying than Tom Ford’s thriller, Nocturnal Animals. Lavishly enriched with moody shades and sensual talent, the fashion designer’s second feature obtains a stranglehold on your attention from the opening sequence. Even there, he manages to transfix you by making sexual the grotesque, by juxtaposing the obscene with the erotic. And while the overall tonality of the movie at times suffers from this heavy hand, it is overall a seductive piece that will both be seared into your memory and become unmemorable.
The focus is on Susan Morrow, an insomniac depressive woman played with her signature sad big eyes and her characteristic aplomb by Amy Adams. Susan embodies the life of the tragic rich and famous, the kind that speaks of psycho-pharmacologists and weekends on the country while downing one too many a stiff cocktail. Caught between a loveless marriage to Walker,...

The world of Doctor Who has changed greatly in the space of just 10 years. The cast and crew have almost completely been replaced since 2005, including a number of new actors to play the errant Time Lord and his companions.
But what has happened to the class of '05? Where are Rose and Mickey now? What is the writer of 'Dalek' up to? And where can you see more work from the director of 'Rose'?
Here it is then, your guide to the main players of Doctor Who series one.
The Cast
After his three-month on-screen stint as the Doctor, Christopher Eccleston's career continued in much the same vein, taking in theatre, interesting television roles and the odd blockbuster.
Post-2005, the Northern actor went Stateside to take on the role of invisible man Claude in the Us series Heroes. From there, he popped up in a very amusing Doctor Who-esque cameo as Dr.

The Tony Awards will stay on CBS through at least 2018. The network has inked a new five-year broadcast agreement with The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing for the awards show, which honors Broadway’s best. This illustrates CBS’ increasing commitment to the Tonys. After a string of one-year renewals, CBS in 2010 made a three-year Tony deal, which will now be succeeded by a five-year pact. The Tonys have aired on CBS for 35 years, since 1978. The 67th annual Tony Awards will be broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall on June 9. The show returns to Radio City Music Hall after two years at the Beacon Theatre. Emmy winner Neil Patrick Harris returns as host. “We’re pleased to renew our commitment to the performing arts and look forward to continuing this great and long-standing partnership by bringing the best of Broadway to primetime television for many years to come,...

2005: Crazy days – well to Doctor Who fans anyway. Considering that in the past decade, we'd had one measly bonafide story, the prospect of a brand new series with excellent ratings and feedback was about as likely as Gordon Ramsay becoming a monk.
Nevertheless, the unthinkable happened, as 2005 not only boasted a swanky new set of episodes, but also Two brand new Doctors and also a Christmas special. Now that put the cat among the pigeons. Normally, the much vaunted BBC Christmas special centrepiece had been awarded to Only Fools And Horses. By 2005 though, the revival of Doctor Who had proved to be such a big success that the BBC bosses were using the good Doctor to bring in the numbers instead of Del and Rodney.
So what better way to launch the new Doctor than by plonking him in a prime time spot on Christmas Day? Actually, viewers had...

A new Doctor Who audio adventure is available, continuing the travels of the Paul McGann's Eighth Doctor. McGann starred in the 1996 failed pilot that attempted to bring back the series, but although he's only made one onscreen appearance, he's been performing in Doctor Who audio dramas for a good while now. This story features the classic Ice Warriors.
"The Ice Warriors, first encountered by the Second Doctor (Patrick Troughton), return for a brand new audio outing. This time, however, it is the Eighth Doctor (Paul McGann) who comes face to face with these familiar, noble creatures...
Millions of years ago, the noble Ice Warriors fled to Deimos, moon of Mars, hoping to sit out the radioactive death throes of their home planet. When the Tardis lands on Deimos, the Doctor discovers that the Warriors' ancient catacombs are now a popular stop for space tourists. But the Martian dynasties are more than history,...
