A long-time talk show host will be making a triumphant return after a hiatus.
Regis Philbin is set to return to "Live! With Regis & Kelly" starting with the show's January 4 episode. The former "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" host will rejoin co-host Kelly Ripa following a successful hip replacement surgery.
But Philbin's return is only one event happening on daytime television.
"Good Morning America" is scheduled for a busy first week of the year. Starting January 4, anchors Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos will be joined by numerous guests, including actresses Amy Adams, Elizabeth Gilbert, Teri Hatcher; comic Steve Harvey; media executive Lisa Lillien; chef Emeril Lagasse; writer Po Bronson; medical expert Richard Besser and more. It was a little weird watching ABC’s chief Washington correspondent interview Dr. Oz and ask holiday shopping expert Becky Worley earnest questions like, "Now, are there any gifts that are more likely to have coupon codes?" But Stephanopoulos also managed to lobby for a windfall profits tax on the bonuses of bankers in a satellite interview with White House Senior Adviser David Axelrod.
