Exclusive: Sky has acquired UK rights to true-crime documentary series Inheritance: The Jersey Murders, which has been six years in the making.
The under-the-radar three-part series is set amidst the 1987 Great Storm on the island of Jersey, where Elizabeth and Nicholas Newall vanish. Suspicion falls on their sons, Roderick and Mark, when blood is found, leading to a murder investigation. Roderick evades the police but is eventually apprehended off the coast of Africa, while Mark is arrested in Europe. Legal complexities result in a secret deal: Roderick serves 12 years for double murder, while Mark serves 22 months and inherits the entire Newall fortune. More than three decades later, this three-part documentary uses 70 hours of unheard taped recordings between the brothers to reveal new insight and uncovers how Mark Newall went on to co-found a major e-commerce company.
The limited series was directed and produced by Eloise Singer at Singer Studios and...

Die Hard came out thirty-five years ago and we’re still seeing a steady stream of knock-offs rip-offs and cash-ins arriving. Case in point, Mercy, which like last year’s Assault on Va-33 puts a hospital under siege. Can the filmmakers deliver an entertaining action film, or is this, like so many other similar films, Doa?
While serving in Afghanistan Dr. Michelle Miller had her husband turn up as a patient in her field hospital, worse he had a bomb strapped to him. This leads to an agonized, and agonizing, exchange of dialogue “Get out Michelle, somebody’s got to be there for Bobby!” “No, I’m not leaving you!” followed by Frank rolling off the table so his detonation somehow doesn’t kill her.

About 20 current and former NFL players — including Dk Metcalf, Joe Haden, Derwin James and Darren Waller — sat around an open gathering space at the headquarters for Interscope Geffen A&m Records in Santa Monica, California. But they weren’t there to preview new music. Instead, the athletes gained insight from executives about opportunities that exist within the music industry to build their personal brands and expand their careers beyond the football field.
Tuesday’s career day was part of the NFL’s newly launched Career Tours program, where Bud Dupree, Janoris Jenkins, Robert Turbin and Ray-Ray McCloud participated in a series of panel discussions that offered snapshots into various aspects of the music industry, from marketing and A&r to producing and signing talent.

Wrestling is awesome, dancing is fun, wrestlers that dance is awesome fun. Indeed it doesn’t happen often, but sometimes pro wrestlers just feel like dancing for a crowd. Gettin’ down is an easy way to interject some comedy because it’s either so great or so terrible.
There are those who have gimmicks that you would totally expect to shake their groove thing. Guys like Fandango, Funkasaurus, Alex Wright, and Disco Inferno have made a living off of tip toeing around their opponents. When they do, it usually gets a nice pop from the crowd.
What really gets the people to take notice is when talent that doesn’t usually two-step, decides to do so. Who wouldn’t like to see Lana, Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton, or even William Regal — who is quite light on his feet — show off their rhythmic attributes.

It was another crazy week in the world of professional wrestling. Sadly, we lost one of the all-time greats, ceremoniously, Samoa Joe competed in his first televised match in a WWE owned ring, and shockingly, R-Truth had the first funny segment of his entire career when he thought he was booked for the Money in the Bank match (Kane’s delivery of “You’re not even in the match!” was stellar as well).
It’s kind of lazy that Tna showed Samoa Joe in their Slammiversary commercial, since he’s, as mentioned above, kind of in Nxt right now. Elsewhere in bad moments, Lana hurt her ankle, and may have tragically even broken a shoe. She later confessed in a wwe.com exclusive that Dolph Ziggler and her ”read books together” and “Talk about them.” That’s some fine writing right there WWE. But c’mon now! What...

The 2012 horror movie Grave Encounters 2 is the inevitable follow-up to the 2011 found-footage fan favorite Grave Encounters.
Two years ago, a film crew traveled to Canada to shoot an episode of the ghost-hunting reality show Grave Encounters inside an abandoned psychiatric hospital. After voluntarily locking themselves inside the building overnight with cameras placed everywhere, they found themselves lost in a labyrinth of endless hallways and terrorized by the ghosts of former patients. The found footage was later released as a feature film, a horror phenomenon that many people believed was just a movie.
In Grave Encounters 2, film student Alex Wright (Richard Harmon, TV’s The Killing) is obsessed with the first film and after receiving a message from a mysterious blogger with the screen name, “Death Awaits 666,” decides to visit the real psychiatric hospital...

Director/writer: Alex Wright. Cast: Bobby Campo, Nazneen Contractor, Devon Ogden and Chris Olivero. Who needs a Ghost Whisperer when Eva (Nazneen Contractor, "24"), a Santería Priestess, can do a better job? In the movie Séance: the Summoning, she proves that those folks gifted with the ability to know what they are doing while others are out for a quick buck. When the religion is a blend of both Roman Catholic and Western African (Vodon) beliefs, the knowledge they wield is far more comprehensive than any one faith can cover. In the real life world, the Voodoo religion is still practiced in Haiti. Players are not all that careful in the deals they make at the crossroads. Eva has never come to grips with her roots and this movie is more about her compared to any of her friends. To see Eva keep a level head throughout the film is this movie's main saving grace.

Grave Encounters 2
Directed by John Poliquin
Written by The Vicious Brothers
Canada/USA, 2012
Remember when The Blair Witch Project caused a bit of a kerfuffle back in 1999? Thanks to a potent concoction of viral and apocryphal marketing, the film caused a bit of a furor amongst the movie-going public, with heated debates over the story’s strongly implied authenticity. However, by the end of the movie’s fifteen minutes of fame, even the most ardent of the ‘it’s real’ crowd succumbed to reason and accepted it as a work of fiction. Now, imagine if those fifteen minutes were stretched to a hundred, and into a film that tries to prove the veracity of itself and the contended sequence of events it’s documenting, while simultaneously looking like a clichéd found footage horror movie, and you have Grave Encounters 2, the sequel to the marginally effective 2011 predecessor.

Title: Grave Encounters 2 Director: John Poliquin Starring: Richard Harmon, Dylan Playfair, Stephanie Bennett, Leanne Lapp, Howard Lai, Sean Rogerson, Ben Wilkinson Using Colin Minihan and Stuart Ortiz’s found-footage horror flick “Grave Encounters” as a self-referential leaping-off point, “Grave Encounters 2″ gathers up a head of loose-limbed steam and bundles it up in a rather impressive technical package, but ultimately fumbles it away on a story that buckles under the weight of layered self-consciousness. Film student Alex Wright (Richard Harmon) is one of many folks obsessed with the original “Grave Encounters,” whose YouTube trailer was a viral sensation. Opinions on the movie are wildly divergent, but some people believe it to have [ Read More ]

Return to the Collingwood Psychiatric Hospital for another round of scares with Grave Encounters 2! The Vicious Brothers - Colin and Stuart - head back to the asylum nine years after the events of the original Grave Encounters. In this innovative sequel, struggling film student Alex Wright (Richard Harmon) decides to research the original film only to discover that its cast has mysteriously vanished and that no one is willing to talk about it. The plot thickens as Alex receives a strange message from an unknown blogger, who goes by the handle of 'DeathAwaits666,' together with footage that shows lead actor Sean Rogerson (who plays the doomed Lance Preston in the first feature) still alive. Setting out to prove that the first film was real, Alex and his friends venture into the asylum to meet the blogger, determined to avoid the pitfalls encountered by the actors in the first film.

Today the sequel to a much-overlooked shocker hit VOD. I am talking about Grave Encounters 2 and I am really looking forward to renting it this week and seeing what those crazy Vicious Brothers have come up with this time around.
The dudes over at Dread Central were paying attention and noticed a tweet from Tribeca Films that hint at some horror coolness to anyone following some simple instructions and jumping through a couple hoops. Don’t worry, not gonna put you through all that but what it all leads up to is posted below, a hot little clip that is just plain creepy.
I loved Grave Encounters and don’t understand why more fans didn’t embrace it. It’s available for streaming on Netflix so if you have not yet checked out it, remedy that soon will ya.

Here at Dread Central we love when a studio goes out of its way to do something cool for the fans of its movies. That's just the case with Tribeca Film, which has some spooky tricks up its sleeves for Grave Encounters fans!
Earlier today we spotted a tweet from Tribeca Film which read: "Spend October in the asylum. Visit http://bit.ly/GE2666 & press Shift + 666 to unlock hidden #horror. #GE2 #shift666"
Of course we did so, and the link ended up taking us to the Tribeca Film website, where we followed the instructions to press Shift + 666. What happened? What did we see? Hit the link and find out for yourself.

We’ve discussed some found footage recently haven’t we? I’m not sure if I call it a shooting style or a genre. Do I call the camera an actor in the film at this point? Is the camera the next Dracula or Frankenstein? Nah, that’s just pretentious and “artsy” and you know me better then to think I’d feed you lines like “the camera is the actor”… but then again I might just do that. I might say that John Poliquin’s follow up to Grave Encounters as directed by the Vicious Brothers has just that very element much as it can be seen in the first film and any found footage flick worth its wait in camera shake (the sequel is also written by the Vicious Brothers). It’s the twelfth man on the field in football. It’s a player. Does Grave Encounters 2...

Here’s first look at the trailer for Grave Encounters 2, the sequel to last year’s supernatural horror film shot in first-person found-footage style, written by The Vicious Brothers.
The movie’s prequel will be available as Video On Demand on October 2nd and can be seen in theaters beginning October 12th, 2012 (Halloween is fast approaching).
Grave Encounters was a hand-cam nightmare phenomenon that many people believed was just a movie. Film student Alex Wright, also obsessed with the first film, will find evidence against them in Grave Encounters 2.
While he and his friends research the events and visit the real psychiatric hospital depicted in the original film, they find themselves face-to-face with unspeakable evil, banking on the hope that their knowledge of the original film will help them survive the sequel.
Newcomer John Poliquin is directing this outing with Reese Alexander, Stephanie Bennett and Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman starring.

I am not a fan of Found Footage movies. Found Footage horror movies? Man, that’s like adding insult to injury. But I continue to understand why they keep cranking these suckers out. It’s easy, it’s cheap, and most of all, it’s really cheap to make. And the return on investment if you hit the right chord? You can’t get that kind of success with a million-dollar movie. And so, after the success of “Grave Encounters”, the gang is back with a sequel, this one called … “Grave Encounters 2″. Hey, if it worked the first time, right? Every time I see attention whore AnnaLynne McCord it reminds of a movie I've seen listed on IMDb, Two Wolves. The horror/thriller is said to be in "pre-production" and is being directed by Alex Wright (Seance). According to Pop Star, the film stars Malcolm McDowell (although he is not listed on the IMDb page) and McCord... And that's all the info I can find. I'm not sure if the film will ever see the light of day, Wright is currently involved with two other projects, and if my memory serves me right, Two Wolves has been is "pre-production" for a long time.

Alas. Alack. Eheu. Woe. Etc. These are just a few of the cries wailed by any Brit who has found the moral fortitude to sit through any Eurovision song contest over the past thirteen years. Year after year we insisted on voting for terrifying novelty acts or power ballads so overwrought that even Miss Dion would have found them in bad taste. Our "Hot Babe of the Week" AnnaLynne McCord not only looks good in a bikini, she is starring in the upcoming horror/thriller Two Wolves along with fellow TV actor Shane West (ER, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen). The flick is currently in pre-production and is being directed by Alex Wright from a script by Chris Freeman.
