"Becoming a successful filmmaker is a dream and always has since childhood," he says. Kapil the passionate stage performer, actor, and directing theatrical plays. In college days he actively participated in cultural activities and won a prize at a state level when nominated as best director in an acting competition. Boosted by this achievement, he then directed various regional comedy plays, which shaped his life-long love of theatre. Kapil's first break in films working as an AD (asst. director) to the well-known director and OBE Gurinder Chadha (GC) on a British- Asian feature film called Blinded by the Light due to be released in 2019, produced by GC and co-produced by Cornerstone films. Most recently completed a shoot in the capacity of 1st AD for another British-Asian film, Corvid's Head, which is due to be released around Easter 2019. Born and brought up in Bombay, India, first came to the UK in 2003 to pursue higher education. Having already graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering degree from a renowned college in New Bombay. Kapil completed his Post Graduation in Digital Film Making from City University London. He, strongly believes that directing should be an organic process, along with the techniques he uses to allow all creatives involved to shine. Every time he has impressed the producers and the decision-makers in past, therefore, it has led him being hired repeatedly to work with the same crews. Kapil is a quick learner and adaptable to any culture and work environment. He achieves great work experience from all the well-known directors he worked. Apart from being humble & patient he is a good listener and keeps calm during the entire filmmaking process and excels with problem-solving skills. At the same time believes and understands the necessity of respecting the roles and professional skills of those with whom he works. He brings with him a wealth of experience from working on different sets, each with its own unique demands. Low or high budget, work in a robust, cost-effective manner. Being a UK resident, he is well versed with all UK union (BECTU member, BFI, ADA UK) rules and regulations. works effectively under pressure, have good organisational and administrative skills and keeps himself updated on relevant health and safety legislation to ensure that he is procedurally compliant at each location.
