Up-and-coming concert pianist turned film and video game composer, Alec Sievern builds upon his impressive resume of performances across the country, including a solo performance at Carnegie Hall, to focus more recently on classically influenced scores for films and video games , while experimenting in the periphery with blending classical influence into modern musical techniques.
Recently graduated from the University of Notre Dame in Mathematics, Sievern now resides in Los Angeles, where he attends USC's 2018-2019 Screen Scoring graduate program. Here, he was awarded the Betty Rose Award & Scholarship, awarded to an "outstanding, promising composer participating in The ASCAP Foundation Composer-in-Residence Program at the University of Southern California".
Influenced equally by movies such as Moonlight and Call Me By Your Name as well as artists such as Debussy and Johann Johannsson, Sievern's orchestrations blend centuries of influence to create a unique and beautiful musical palate that attempts to discover previously unexplored ideas.
