1977 to 1990 School, graduation from the Wirtschaftsgymnasium in Offenburg with Abitur. 1990 to 1992 training as a bank clerk. 1992 to 1999 studies in biology, geography, political science and education at the University of Heidelberg.
1999 to 2003 project manager and deputy head of department at the Institute for Organizational Communication (IFOK) in Bensheim and Berlin. From 2003 to 2005, consultant for human resources strategy at Deutsche Bahn AG, Berlin.
Member of IG BCE, German Alpine Club and Naturfreunde Dietlingen.
Member of the SPD, 1990 to 1993 Juso chairwoman Offenburg, 1993 to 1996 deputy Juso state chairwoman Baden-Württemberg, 1994 member of the federal assembly, since 2001 member of the motion committee of the SPD Baden-Württemberg, since 2003 in the program forum of the SPD Baden-Württemberg. Member of Eurosolar - European Association for Renewable Energies.
Member of the Bundestag since 2005.
