New Delhi, Jan 21 (Ians) Indian Deaf Cricket Association (Idca) Tri-Nation One Day International (Odi) for the deaf will be held from April 28 to May 6 in Kolkata.
In this tournament, deaf cricket teams from India, Bangladesh and Nepal will compete with each other to take the coveted trophy home.
For the upcoming tournament, Idca has till now shortlisted the names of 21 players based on their past performance. Out of this, 16 players will be selected for the Tri-Nation tournament by a five-member selection committee after an internal meeting scheduled to be held on January 28 and 29, here.
The committee will be headed by Dev Dutt (Coach). Vinod Kumar Matta (Chief Selector), MP Singh (Head Coach), Sumit Jain (President), Ajay Kumar (Secretary) and Manish Goel (Treasurer) will be on the panel.
Sumit Jain, President, Idca said, “Idca is delighted to be hosted in Kolkata which is one of the venues for the Ipl as well.

New Delhi, Oct 13 (Ians) MP Singh — the coach of Indian men’s deaf cricket team, which recently won the Dicc T20 Champions Trophy in UAE, on Thursday said the tournament victory will encourage the next generation of cricketers especially in the deaf society, to work harder and become part of the national team in future.
India’s deaf cricket team recently beat South Africa by 39 runs in the final to clinch the Dicc T20 Champions Trophy at Malek stadium .
“The tournament win is a big achievement for the whole team and deaf society. Even the children, who are not part of the team and playing cricket in different parts of the country, will be encouraged to play more and grow further, so that they can become the part of the national team in future,” coach Singh told Ians at the sidelines of an event of winners in the national capital.

Ajman (UAE), Oct 10 (Ians) India’s deaf cricket team beat South Africa by 39 runs to clinch the Dicc T20 Champions Trophy, at Malek stadium, here.
India came up with a spirited show with both ball and bat as they posted the target of 141 runs and maintained their excellent unbeaten record in the tournament. Chasing a target of 141 runs, South Africa were bundled out for 101 runs for 10 wickets.
Earlier, put into bat, India posted 140 runs in the stipulated 20 overs with loss of 4 wickets. Virendra Singh (50 not out) was the top scorer with Indrajeet Yadav (40) scoring scintillating knocks to help India post 140 runs for 4 wickets.
South Africa Deaf Players, S Poonsamy and A McGee produced a fine bowling show to beat the hosts by four wickets in the final match at Malek stadium, Ajman, UAE on Sunday. After India successfully sorted out their batting, with their top order India took 10 wickets of South Africa.

The unveiling ceremony took place in the presence of Support Partners, board of Idca and the Indian Deaf Cricket team who will represent India at the championship trophy scheduled to be held in Sharjah, UAE from October 1-9.
