The Flash Season 9 Episode 3
The Flash‘s final season isn’t pulling any punches thus far—we’re three episodes in and the show’s already killed off a legacy character, introduced a new one wearing her face, and seen the arrival of a dangerous new speedster sporting some uncomfortable similarities to a certain Bat-based superhero from Gotham City. And the season’s third episode, titled “Rogues of War,” not only reveals the terrifying Red Death to be an evil version of Batwoman’s Ryan Wilder, but one of Team Flash’s own breaks bad, switching sides to join up with her team of C-list criminal henchmen out for some form of still-unspecified personal gain.
The thing is we know exactly what Mark Blaine wants for changing sides: A chance to somehow resurrect his dead girlfriend Frost, who sacrificed her own life to...

The following contains spoilers from The Flash‘s final season premiere.
The CW’s The Flash kicked off its farewell run with a time loop episode in which Barry learned not to live the rest of his and Iris’ life according to some spoiler-filled “map book” he had compiled, but to make decisions in the moment. As such, for example, we saw Iris turn down a sweet offer to be gobbled up by CatCo Media and instead declare her intent to expand Central City Citizen Media on her own terms.

The following contains The Flash spoilers.
The Flash Season 9 Episode 1
While The Flash Season 9 premiere was a light-hearted romp of the sort that we haven’t seen on this show in some time, the kick-off to the series’ final run of episodes included more than a few tantalizing hints of what’s to come in the weeks ahead, from new villains to a strange new being—who definitely isn’t Frost—that seems to suddenly be inhabiting the body Caitlin Snow’s body as a result of her trip into her homemade cryochamber.
Although “Wednesday Ever After” introduces former The 100 star Richard Harmon as a new, post-Crisis on Infinite Earths version of Owen Mercer (a.k.a. Captain Boomerang), the episode’s final moments reveal that he’s not working alone and that his literal partner in crime is someone who looks much more familiar—but is likely a whole lot more dangerous.

In our Q&a series Last Call, we get down to the bottom of every last thing with some of our favorite celebs - from the last time they were starstruck to the last song they listened to. This week, Javicia Leslie takes our call.
Gotham's villains never stood a chance against Javicia Leslie's Batwoman. Following Ruby Rose's unexpected departure from the CW series in 2020, Leslie has captivated comic book fans as free-spirited, ass-kicking superhero Ryan Wilder, aka the first Black and first openly queer Batwoman to appear on screen. In front of the camera, Leslie wears a pointed bat mask and flowing cape to fight villains like Poison Ivy and Cluemaster. Backstage, the cape comes off, but Leslie takes her responsibilities as one of the first Black LGBTQ+ superheroes just as seriously.
"Playing [Ryan Wilder] reminds the little girl in me that everything about me is Ok," Leslie tells Popsugar.

Batwoman Season 3 Episode 11
Last night’s episode of Batwoman finally made Wildmoore canon. The episode, which also saw Ryan Wilder and Jada Jett come to Jesus, was directed by the show’s very own Luke Fox, Camrus Johnson. We talked to him about his directorial debut, his favorite scenes to shoot, and more.
In “Broken Toys,” Marquis Jet is on the loose, and the Bat Team needs to fix the joybuzzer so they can try to save him. Things don’t quite go as planned. Marquis sends Zsasz after Jada, and Ryan gets caught in the crosshairs. The Joker’s toymaker, Kiki Roulette, pretends to help Mary and Alice, only to betray them and give the joybuzzer to Marquis. Amidst the chicanery, characters reveal themselves, and get closer to each other. Much closer in Ryan and Sophie’s case, as the episode ends with the...

Camrus Johnson made his “Batwoman” directing debut this week, putting him at the helm of a major moment for Wildmoore shippers. It was a moment he took just as seriously as the fans.
The end of “Broken Toys” saw Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie) and Sophie Moore (Meagan Tandy) finally give into their feelings for each other — or at least, Ryan finally gave in. Sophie was more than ready to be with her. In the final minutes of the episode, the two end up in bed together, and it was a moment that Johnson really wanted to get right.
“I have so many actor friends that have had to do scenes like this and they can be uncomfortable. So my biggest thing was no matter what, I want this to be fun, I want this to be short and I want you to enjoy it,” Johnson explained to TheWrap. “And I...

We now know how Arrow‘s Mia — who lives as a grown-up in the year 2040 or so — will figure into the conclusion of The Flash‘s five-part “Armageddon” event.
Now two episodes into its five-week run, “Armageddon” has Barry Allen (played by Grant Gustin) puzzling over his alleged role in the titular destruction of Earth in the year 2031. Thus far, Barry has hung out with Brandon Routh’s Ray Palmer/The Atom (from Legends of Tomorrow), Supergirl‘s Chyler Leigh appeared as Alex Danvers via a video chat, and at the close of Part 2 Barry met up with Cress Williams...

But she’ll fully transform into the supervillain of Poison Ivy in the November 24 hour. Check out the full look at the new side of Mary below. This The Flash: Armageddon article contains spoilers.
The Flash Season 8 Episode 1
“This is not a crossover,” showrunner Eric Wallace tells me via Zoom of Armageddon, the five episode event story that kicks off The Flash Season 8. “I cannot stress that enough. This is a five part special event, which means it’s a traditional graphic novel centered around Flash that’s a little bit bigger. A little bit more exciting, a little bit extra, the emotions are a little deeper, but it is not a crossover.”
That doesn’t mean that Armageddon isn’t big. It is. Five episodes, six heroes in addition to the Team Flash regulars, and one of the most legendary villains in Justice League history all turn up over the course of Armageddon. Just maybe not all at once.
“What I don’t want to do is get people ready for a scene with 20 heroes in...

Batwoman’s Ryan Wilder finally got her life together, but now it looks like her troubles are only just beginning.
As you’ll recall, Ryan (played by Javicia Leslie) was released from parole, moved out of her van and finally accepted the Batwoman mantle as her own, following a heart-to-heart with Kate Kane. Then, during Ryan’s season-ending visit to Arkham Asylum, Alice dropped the bombshell that her frenemy’s birth mother was still very much alive. Season 3 of the Arrowverse series, premiering Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 9/8c on The CW, will tackle the fallout from that reveal.

Batwoman is bringing a beloved comic book character into the fold during its third season.
Per Deadline, the incomparable Bridget Refan has landed the role of Pamela Isley, aka Poison Ivy.
Isley is a former botany student at Gotham University and is described as a "passionate, brilliant scientist with a mind for changing the world for the better.”
Isley's plans changed when her colleagues experimented on her and injected her with various plant toxins, which turned her into the villain of Batman.
“With a formidable power coursing through her veins, Pamela used her powers to do what she thought was right… even if Batman and those closest to her disagreed with her dangerous methods,” per the official character synopsis.
“Now effectively wiped off the board for years, Batwoman and the Bat Team must prepare themselves for Poison Ivy to return with a vengeance.”
