1987 Abitur at the Mannlich-Gymnasium in Homburg. 1987 Studied librarianship in Cologne, graduated in 1990.
1990 Worked at the Saarland University Library, 1992 to 2002 Head of the Press and Public Relations Office in the Saarpfalz District Administration.
Member of AWO, ADFC, VCD, BUND, Deutsche Humanitäre Stiftung, Lebenshilfe Saarpfalz, Stiftung für die Rechte zukünftiger Generationen (SRzG), Gesellschaft für Nachhaltigkeit (GfN), Berufsverband Information Bibliothek (BIB), among others.
Member of the SPD since 1985, member of the state executive committee since 1997 and deputy state chairwoman of the Saar SPD since 2000, chairwoman of the Homburg SPD town association since 1999. Member of the Homburg City Council from 1994 to 2004.
