Sarah Sullivan(II)
- Sound Department
Sarah Marie Sullivan was born in Hollis, New Hampshire to Irish
immigrant parents. Her father was a famous jazz pianist in Dublin in
the 40s and 50s. Her mother trained at the elite Abbey Theatre, and was
a well-known actress in Ireland. Though Sarah was born in New
Hampshire, she always felt most at home in Eire. She was raised between
New England and Connemara. As a child, in Ireland, Sullivan won two All
Ireland competitions as a brilliant fiddler. She can be heard on dozens
of compilations, along with The Chieftans, Altan, The Wolfe Tones,
Dubliners, The Corrs, Christy Moore, The Cranberries, Van Morrison and
many others.
Upon returning to America during her teenage years, Sullivan began a successful career as a radio presenter. Earning respect world-wide for her Morning Show(s), she soon moved to Ireland and was well-received as America's most beloved radio presenter.
Sullivan's first film work was a minor role in New Hampshire-filmed Jumanji, in 1995. In fact, her involvement came as a surprise - Sullivan soon heard that Jumanji star Robin Williams had requested that she become involved in some way. This role led to other (larger) roles in a string of independent films she worked on from the mid-late 90s.
Today, Sullivan is back with radio, working between America and Ireland constantly. She flies, once a month, to Nova Scotia, where she plays her fiddle at local dance halls.
