Face Off Episode 505
“Mother Earth Goddess”
Original Airdate: 10 September 2013
In This Episode...
The contestants must create their own earth mother goddesses. There must be a focus on beauty, and to make it personal, there should be at least one aspect of their moms represented in the makeups.
The Creations
Roy came back big after last week’s epic failure. His mom was represented in the tree roots, as she grounds the family. Neville said this was one of his favorites, and found it elegantly balanced. Glenn thought it was beautiful, full of smart decisions, and he loved the color. Ve also loved the color, and thought the bit of pink peeking through on the face was stunning.
Eddie aimed to make a warrior goddess, to show his mother as the strength of the family. Unfortunately, there was not a feminine detail to be seen. Not only did he not do any beauty makeup,...

Today’s feature includes release details for Inbred, Blood, and 4 Dead Girls, a trailer for The Mole Man of Belmont Avenue, featuring Robert Englund, details on a Jason Voorhees-inspired charity, an interview with Nick Basile, the director of Dark, and much more:
The Mole Man of Belmont Avenue Trailer and Release Details: “Two years ago, the Mugg Brothers, who have never worked a day in their lives, inherited a brownstone apartment building. In that short time, their slacker ways have run the building into the ground. Tenants are moving out, no one drinks at the bar downstairs, and the building’s pets are going missing. If all that isn’t enough to make them sit up and take notice, they soon discover a mysterious creature is hiding in the basement and trying to...

Face Off Episode 502
“Future Frankenstein”
Original Airdate: 20 August 2013
In This Episode...
This week, the contestants have a Frankenstein challenge. They are organized in teams of three and must create a Frankenstein and his bride from the future, with a completely original backstory. The winning design will be featured at Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights. Neville is not here tonight, so actor / writer Kevin Grevioux (the Underworld films; I, Frankenstein) is the guest judge.
The Creations
Alana, Laney, and Laura: Their backstory had a Frankenstein from the past brought to life with a bolt of lightning, and he creates his bride to power him. My favorite detail was that, in the future, human body parts become fashion accessories, so the bride gains her power for Frank with an umbrella with a human hand handle. This was my favorite duo this week. Ve loved the paint and the modeling, while Glenn thought the bride especially was beautiful.

For this week’s team challenge, it is divided up into veterans and newcomers. They are tasked with creating five creatures that are part of an original hyper-stylized fantasy world. Each team must create a pixie, witch, ogre, troll, and fawn.
