The main accused behind the deepfake video of actor Rashmika Mandanna, which went viral on social media platforms, has been arrested, Delhi Police said on Saturday. The accused was nabbed by the Special Cell’s Ifso unit after raids in multiple states. More details are awaited.
The Fir in the case is under the under Sections 465 (forgery) and 469 (forgery for the purpose of harming reputation) of the Indian Penal Code. It also invokes sections 66C and 66E of the Information Technology Act.

New Delhi, Aug 16 (Ians) Delhi Commission for Women (Dcw) Chief Swati Maliwal on Wednesday issued a notice to the Directorate General of Health services (Dghs), seeking introduction of free of cost Human Papillomavirus (Hpv) vaccine to prevent cervical cancers among women.
In her notice issued to the Dghs Director, Maliwal wrote: “Cervical cancer is a leading cause of cancer-associated mortality among women in India. It is estimated that every year, approximately 1.25 lakh new cases are diagnosed and over 75,000 deaths occur in the country.
Cervical cancer is preventable with the help of routine screening and administration of the vaccine for the Hpv infection which is majorly responsible for this disease.”

New Delhi, Nov 26 (Ians) Upon the intervention of the Delhi Commission for Women Chairperson Swati Maliwal, Health Department Delhi Government has sent a circular to all Government Hospitals in Delhi to provide free Sex Reassignment Surgeries if they have a ‘Burn and Plastic Ward’ and a plastic surgeon, Dcw said on Saturday.
The commission has termed this a “big” achievement as it has been pursuing the matter for several months with the Health Department. The Commission said that one of the most common issues faced by transgenders in the capital is lack of free Sex Reassignment Surgeries (Srs) in government hospitals and are forced to pay upto 10-15 Lacs for getting the procedure done in a private hospital.
In this regard, the Commission had issued a Notice to the Health Department, Delhi Government seeking information regarding provision of facility of free sex reassignment surgery in all government hospitals in Delhi.

Delhi Commission for Women Chairperson Swati Maliwal has written to Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur raising concerns over the entry of filmmaker and ‘#MeToo’ accused Sajid Khan into ‘Bigg Boss 16’ and sought his removal from the reality show hosted by Salman Khan.

New Delhi, Oct 1 (Ians) Facing a massive controversy over the proliferation of child pornography on its platform in India, Twitter said on Saturday that it banned 57,643 accounts in the country for promoting child sexual exploitation, non-consensual nudity and allied content between July 26 and August 25.
Earlier this week, Delhi Commission for Women chairperson Swati Maliwal had said the replies received from Twitter in the child pornography complaints were incomplete and the Commission was not satisfied with them.
Maliwal had on September 20 summoned Twitter India Policy Head and Delhi Police over tweets depicting child pornography and rape videos of women and children on the micro-blogging platform.
Taking suo moto cognisance of several tweets openly depicting videos and photographs of sexual acts involving children, the Commission said that most of the tweets portrayed children completely naked and many of them also depicted brutal rape and other non-consensual sexual activities with children and women.
