Aaron Davies(II)
- Sound Department
- Editorial Department
- Production Manager
Aaron is an editor and a re-recording mixer in Los Angeles, California. He
graduated from Ithaca College in 1998 and went off to New York City
where he gained his first professional experience wearing multiple
hats. He began working and learning from David Alvarez and Fred Helm at
Cyclops pictures and sound where he worked as an in-house editor and
part time audio assist. He gained valuable experience and eventually
began engineering VO and ADR sessions as well as doing sound designs
and Foley. Of the films he worked on while at Cyclops, Super Troopers
was easily the most recognizable. He also gained valuable experience as
a location sound assist and mixer on a number of short films, TV as
well as large remote recordings for live music.
In 2003 Aaron moved to LA and began to work in Post full time. Initially he became a workflow geek, helping streamline post workflows for massive multi-cam shows such as Hell's Kitchen, Skating with Celebrities and Amish in the City. He partnered up with Andrew Williams and helped form the short lived Fortitude Sound where the two of them mixed numerous TV shows, promos, and documentaries. After leaving Fortitude Aaron moved on to manage post at Discovery studios in LA for a short time and then re-connected with Andrew Williams to work on Smitty. Along with the Legendary Phil (Philco) Raves, Aaron and Andrew began the collective "Bedrock Post". A site (and idea) designed to help pool resources and foster a leaner meaner audio post endeavor allowing the smaller houses of Tricoast Audio, Downtown Sound LA to take on large projects, deliver first rate mixes and keep the overhead to a manageable insanity.
