Fernando Corbató was born on 1 July 1926 in Oakland, California, USA. He was married to Isabel Blandford and Emily Gluck. He died on 12 July 2019 in Newburyport, Massachusetts, USA.
Professor Emeritus in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at M.I.T. and pioneer of the design and development of multiple-access computer systems, he received in 1990 the A. M. Turing Award.
