-Grégoire Blanc is a French musician born in Paris on December 3, 1996. Grégoire began studying cello at the age of four alongside other musical instruments. At the age of 15, during a physics class, he discovered the theremin, an instrument for which he developed a passion. Encouraged to develop a playing technique by his cello teacher at the Issy-les-Moulineaux conservatory, he posted a few videos on the YouTube platform, which attracted the attention of a wide audience. In 2013, a video in which he performed Claude Debussy's "Clair de Lune" garnered nearly 5 million views. His encounters with renowned thereminists, in particular Carolina Eyck and Lydia Kavina, enabled him to take his musical expression to the next level. He began studying at the École nationale supérieure d'arts et métiers in 2015, from which he graduated in 2018. In 2019, after obtaining his Master's degree in music acoustics research at IRCAM, he decided to devote himself entirely to his musical career. He performs regularly in France and abroad. In 2020, he takes part in the development of a new theremin model with Moog Music to celebrate the instrument's centenary. In February 2022, he released "À ses derniers pas, entrant dans la boue", an album of music by Canadian composer Aleks Schürmer. This album is Grégoire Blanc's first solo recital, released on the Canadian Music Centre label, Centrediques.
