Jorge Álvarez was born in León, Guanajuato, Mexico. Film student at the CUEC (Centro Universitario de Estudios Cinematográficos) in Mexico City, fails to conclude for personal reasons and returns to his hometown.
He began his career as a director and photographer making video clips, while still studying. Time after, he joins David Bravo to work together at "La Muestra de Cine León". This proyect allow him to get involve with cinema in his own city. From then, his participation in some short films production begin to make his work win relevance among other young film makers, until finally got "El Bolero Perdido de Maria Grever", to be his first formal work as a producer. Currently he is working along with a foreing team in a new production called "Vertical Risk".
