- Rylan Nilsson is an award-winning Canadian actor and voice actor known for his roles in The Nobody Prayer, The Katabasis, Intersection, and the anime series Cardfight: Vanguard!
Born in a small Southern Alberta town, Rylan began his acting pursuits at age 10; when he learned he was gifted in the art of imitation; much like his cousin (and hero) Robin Williams. Quick with a wacky voice or accent, he immediately grew to love performing for his classmates and teachers. His love of performing, paired with his natural wit and genuine, nice-guy persona, immediately found him success on stage and, in 2010, he scored his first of many on-screen performances; the lead in the sci-fi drama: "Teenage Spaceman".
Since then, his acting career has skyrocketed; having found success on various film and television sets throughout Canada and the United States. Including performances seen on Netflix, Amazon Prime, Crave TV, Syfy Channel, FX, and Hulu as well at various film festivals around the world!- IMDb Mini Biography By: Anonymous
- 8th cousin to his hero, Robin Williams.
- Apart from Robin Williams, other influences in his comedic-acting endeavors include Red Skelton, Peter Sellers, Harold Lloyd, Rick Moranis, and Steve Martin.
- His first experience with voice acting was in the form of one half of a squabbling comedic duo in an independent video game. When the other voice actor dropped out, Rylan was asked to portray both characters (One, American. The other, British). So, you could say, his first gig was to argue with himself.
- Attended High School with CFL Wide Receiver, Jimmy Ralph.
- Although he is known for his comedic relief or lovable-loser roles; he has also established himself in quite a few dramatic performances as well. (To the extent of even winning awards in such a category.).
- When we cease to learn, we cease to grow.
- [When asked if he wants to be 'the next Robin Williams'] In my opinion, we should never say "I want to be the next 'such-and-such'. If we do, we are more likely to say "I will never be as good as 'such-and-such'". Granted, we can be inspired by others but our end goal should ultimately be to be the best individuals that we can be; to do the best we can every day. That's how we achieve greatness; by constantly trying to do better than we did yesterday.
- I would love to play a character in the spirit of Indiana Jones or Han Solo. However, with my luck, I'd get stuck playing the plucky comic relief that got him into trouble in the first place.
