Nasty Cherry have returned with another throwback pop-rock single: “Shoulda Known Better” debuted earlier to fans during the band’s recent tour.
On “Shoulda Known Better,” the pop-rock group examines a relationship full of red flags. “It was hard because I wanted it/You’re a true deceiver/I should’ve known better,” singer Gabi Bechtel delivers on the chorus. Musician Du Blonde created the bright, animated video for the song
“‘Shoulda Known Better’ is a song about making dumb decisions despite knowing better,” the band explained in a joint statement.

“I have so many crazy stories from that tour that half of them are blocked out from my memory,” Banoffee says over the phone from Melbourne. She’s recalling her stint as a member of Charli Xcx’s backing band in 2018, when the British pop artist was opening for Taylor Swift’s Reputation Tour – a kind of synth-pop Russian-doll situation in which Banoffee found herself performing for as many as 75,000 fans a night. “I’d like to think I’ve compartmentalized it for my own sanity,” she adds. “Once you’ve seen one sports stadium,...

Charli Xcx has teamed up with Vancouver rapper-model and frequent collaborator Tommy Genesis on a new single, “Bricks.” The A.G. Cook-produced song originally appeared in the 2018 black-comedy action film Assassination Nation, and finally got a proper release this week.
“Bricks” follows the duo’s remix of Tommy Genesis’ “100 Bad.” Genesis also opened for Charli Xcx for several dates on the North American tour of her latest album, Charli. Genesis’ self-titled debut was released last December.
Charli Xcx previously released the music videos “White Mercedes,” “2099” featuring Troye Sivan, and “Gone” featuring Christine and the Queens.

One part Real World, one part Making the Band, Netflix's new reality series documenting the exciting rise of all-female rock 'n roll band Nasty Cherry - aptly titled I'm With the Band: Nasty Cherry, which begins streaming on Nov. 15 - is an unflinching glimpse into the ambition, drama, personality clashes, and most importantly, magic, that goes hand in hand with trying to make it in the music industry.
The six-episode show is worth a watch, to be sure, but what's key is just how much Nasty Cherry's music is worth a listen. The four-piece outfit - which consists of lead singer Gabbriette Bechtel, guitarist Chloe Chaidez, bassist Georgia Somary, and drummer Debbie Knox-Hewson - clearly has talent, which is evident in the four songs the band has released so far. That's a part of what makes the Netflix series so compelling - you want them to succeed almost as much as they do.
