Lori Vallow Daybell, an Idaho woman found guilty of murdering her two kids and conspiring to murder her husband’s first wife, has appealed her conviction, according to court documents.
The notice of appeal was filed on August 31 by her attorney. The attorney cites Daybell’s multiple issues with her conviction. The appeal raised concerns about her mental competency, an opening statement made by prosecutors to the jury and her right to a speedy trial.
Daybell was found guilty of murdering her two children, Joshua Vallow, 7, and Tylee Ryan, 16. The proceeding took seven weeks, with dozens of witnesses testifying during the trial.
