- Don Whitehead was born on April 8, 1908 in inman, Virginia. He was a writer, known for The FBI Story (1959), Attack on Terror: The FBI vs. the Ku Klux Klan (1975) and The Twentieth Century (1957). He died on January 12, 1981 in Knoxville, Tennessee, USA.
- Don Whitehead was a journalist. He won the Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting in 1951 and 1952. Besides The F.B.I. Story he wrote four other non-fiction books.
