Sony Pictures Networks India (Spni) has acquired TV and digital rights to all New Zealand-based men’s and women’s cricket matches into India and associated territories for the next seven years. The deal is valid from May 1, 2024 through April 30, 2031, encompassing India’s tours of New Zealand in the 2026-27 and 2030-31 summers, as well as all other bilateral Tests, ODIs, and T20Is played in New Zealand during the period. All matches will be broadcast across Spni’s sports channels and streamed on SonyLIV. Spni’s digital rights in India will be co-exclusive with Prime Video for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons. While a value for the deal was not disclosed, industry sources estimate it at $100 million.

The BBC has acquired HBO Max thriller Spy/Master as it continues to beef up its iPlayer offering. Acquired from Warner Bros. Discovery, the show stars Happy Valley’s Alec Secăreanu as the most trusted advisor to Romanian President Nicolae Ceaușescu. A Vice Studios documentary series on the 2014 disappearance of Malaysian flight MH370 has been sold to History Channel in the U.S. and a raft of broadcasters in Europe.
Vice Distribution, the global distribution and licensing arm of Vice Media Group, pre-sold the three-part series, entitled “MH370: The Lost Flight,” into A+E Networks’ History, TV2 in Denmark and Viaplay across its European territories. The series was launched to international buyers at this week’s MipTV market in Cannes.
“MH370: The Lost Flight” was originally produced for Paramount Plus in the U.K. as part of the platform’s debut programming launch as well as Sbs Australia.
The series tells the definitive story of the Malaysian Airlines flight’s disappearance through the eyes of those closest to the tragedy: the victims’ families. With candid testimony from those most impacted, across four continents, and filmed over 12 months, Vice Studios...

Apple is producing 9/11: Inside the President’s War Room, a new documentary special that tells the story of 9/11 through the eyes of the Presidency by gaining unprecedented access to the key decision makers who responded for the nation. Fulwell 73, the production company co-owned by James Corden, is making a documentary for Britain’s More4 in which it will cast new light on Nazi atrocities at the Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland.
Fulwell will for the first time colorize black and white footage from Auschwitz and couple it with revealing testimony from more than 15 Holocaust survivors for the two-part series.
Auschwitz Untold In Color is directed by BAFTA-winner David Shulman and will broadcast later this month as part of the commemorations for the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz on January 27, 1945.
Sheldon Lazarus is the development producer, while Fulwell 73 partner Leo Pearlman and Neil Grant are the executive producers. As well as airing on Channel 4’s More 4, the series will have a selected theatrical release.
