Zina Torab

Zina Torab was born and raised in Iran where she began her acting career in film, theater and voice over work. In 2017 she moved to the United States as a PHD student studying Performance Studies at the University of Hawaii. By 2019 she was ready to move to Los Angeles and landed in Hollywood just a few months before the pandemic turned the world upside down. Since then, Zina has tirelessly appeared in numerous short films and features including "Azizam," set in 1970s Iran, the psychological short "Retakes," "One By One" and the feature "I Am Mine Alone" streaming on Amazon Prime, VUDU and Apple TV. She has also continued to actively work in theatrical productions such as the TV play "Rostam is Unaware of Sohrab, His Son" in Los Angeles and "Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo" in Hawaii. An eclectic artist, Zina has also modeled for fashion shows and art galleries in Hawaii and Tehran. Since the age of 14 she has been a Daf player. She has also performed with different bands at the Arasbaran Cultural Center in Iran. Vocally Zina is a mezzo soprano and has sung in the choir for the Mohammad Nouri Institute. After moving to Los Angeles, Zina joined the L.A. Daf Ensemble and has performed with them in multiple venues. Among the awards Zina has won for her work on film as Best Actress (Feature) at the Istanbul Film Awards, Best Actress at the World Film Carnival of Singapore, Best Actress at the Anatolia International Film Festival, Best Actress for the Black Swan International Film Festival and Best Actress at the Druk
