A pleasantly warm Thursday evening on the 22nd June saw some of the cast of The Black Prince, along with other Indian celebrities and film-makers, turn out at the BFI Southbank for the screening of what turned out to be a well-received opening film of the London Indian Film Festival.
Despite technical hitches which looked in danger of scuppering the red carpet event entirely, the parade of talent was only too keen to pose for pictures and talk excitedly about their roles in the movie. The story arc follows Duleep Singh, crowned at the age of five to be the Maharajah of the Sikh Empire only for treachery to rob him of his throne. To save his life he is taken to England and raised as a Christian. However, when he comes of age he seeks out his mother who encourages him to reclaim his true heritage and rightful place...

However, Ogbourne today confessed on Twitter to meeting with the show's producers and cryptically stated that "things could be brewing". He wrote: "I'm over the moon!!! James Sutton has revealed his reasons for bowing out of Emmerdale, explaining that he wants to "get cracking" with new career projects. The actor's character Ryan Lamb leaves the village in next Tuesday's episode, following in the footsteps of mum Faye (Kim Thomson), who also recently departed. Ryan has been a less prominent fixture on screen in recent months after the high drama surrounding the Wyldes and the Lambs came to an end in late 2010. Speaking to Holy Soap about his Emmerdale exit, Sutton commented: "I was thinking about it last year. Lyndon Ogbourne and Amanda Donohoe left and Kim Thomson said she was thinking about leaving, so my whole family set-up in the village was disappearing. "I came from Hollyoaks before that, so I've done five-and-a-half years on soaps now. I'm privileged to have had that training (more)...

Writing on Twitter earlier today, Danny Miller - who plays Aaron Livesy on the show - commented: "A friend, a incredibly intelligent man, great father and husband! And a true gent!! God bless you mate and may you rest in peace! ... Wouldn't be the person I am today without the legend that is Gavin Blyth! Amazing man! Love him!" Lyndon Ogbourne - who recently bowed out as Nathan Wylde - said: "Gavin Blyth was a friend, a total gent and a true legend. For everything that he did for me, and everyone. Rip." (more...

Emmerdale actor Lyndon Ogbourne has predicted that co-star Alex Carter will have a bright future after he leaves the soap. Earlier this month, it was announced that Carter had quit his role as postman Jamie Hope in order to pursue new projects. Reflecting on the news, Ogbourne - who plays twisted Nathan Wylde on the Yorkshire-based programme - told Digital Spy: "I think he's a great actor and he's going to go on to great things but we're really good friends so I'm sad to see him go as a friend. "I'm excited for him, though. As a young actor involved in something like this it's (more)...

Emmerdale star Lyndon Ogbourne has revealed that he would like his character Nathan Wylde to become romantically involved with the soap's forthcoming arrival Eve Birch. Last month, it was announced that former Hear'Say singer Suzanne Shaw had been recruited to play the role of Eve, who is the granddaughter of existing character Edna (Shirley Stelfox). In an interview with Digital Spy, Ogbourne claimed that it would be interesting to see Eve become embroiled in the life of his troubled alter ego - even if it is only for a brief period of time. He commented: "I don't know what the background is to her coming in. I think she's got many a plan of love within the village but I don't know if any of that revolves around Nathan. It would be a lot of fun if it did! "I think she's coming (more)...

Emmerdale star Lyndon Ogbourne has revealed that he is thrilled to be exploring his character's dark side in his current storyline. The actor's alter ego Nathan Wylde will next week be seen attacking his father's first wife Faye Lamb (Kim Thomson) after misreading her efforts to comfort him as a come-on. His sinister behaviour follows previous attempts to manipulate Leyla Harding (Roxanne Ghawam-Shahidi) with a blackmail plot. In an interview with Digital Spy, Ogbourne confirmed that he is happy to be playing a menacing figure and particularly enjoying Nathan's scenes with half-brother Ryan Lamb (James Sutton). Ogbourne explained: "This is what I love. The way it's worked over the last few weeks, which I'm quite chuffed about, is they're creating this disgusting character in Nathan and this Mr Nice Guy in Ryan (more)...
