He was an influential interpreter and promoter of the U.S. Constitution, as well as the founder of the nation's financial system, the Federalist Party, the United States Coast Guard, and the New York Post newspaper.
The smash hit 2015 Broadway musical, "Hamilton: An American Musical," inspired by his life as recounted in biographer Ron Chernow's book, was written and composed by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
He was inducted into the 2021 New Jersey Hall of Fame in the public services category.
