Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions finalist Ryan Bilger is sorry if he “ruined” your viewing experience by being a bit too “loud” and “excited” — and deciding to “go for the kill” — during Monday night’s episode.
En route to winning $32,405 and advancing to the semifinals, Bilger of Macungie, Pa. at one point beat his chest in anticipation of acing a question, and at another point told 2017 Toc champ/guest host Buzzy Cohen, “I’m gonna go for the kill” as he wagered $6,000 on a Daily Double. (Watch clips down below.)

“Jeopardy!” all-star and 2017 Tournament of Champions winner Buzzy Cohen is set to take to the podium as guest host of the quiz competition show’s upcoming 10-day tournament.
This year’s Tournament of Champions will take place from May 17-28, with 15 previous contestants coming back to compete for a $250,000 purse. That prize money will be matched and donated to the Hope of the Valley Trebek Center for the Homeless, which helps up to 300 people a year with shelter, intensive case management, mental health services, job training and placement, substance abuse counseling, housing navigation, life skill training and medical care.
Cohen, who first appeared on “Jeopardy!” in 2016, won $164,603 over the course of nine games, then returned the following year and again in 2019 as team captain for a “Jeopardy!” All-Star game.

Monday’s episode of “Jeopardy!” marked the first time in the show’s history that a contestant has ever explained their answer — and Alex Trebek loved it.
After returning champion Sarah Jett Rayburn incorrectly answered a Civil War question during Final Jeopardy with General Grant, she quickly asked Trebek if the right answer was General McClellan. Once he said yes, Rayburn began to walk Trebek through her reasoning behind picking the wrong general — even though he did not ask for an explanation.
“I wasn’t sure… I second-guessed myself on that one a little bit,” Rayburn said, before cutting herself off: “Sorry, I shouldn’t be talking now.”

Jeopardy! contestant Sarah Jett Rayburn made history on Monday’s show, much to the amusement of host Alex Trebek.
At the end of the episode, returning champ Rayburn provided an incorrect answer to a Civil War-themed Final Jeopardy question and, instead of leaving well enough alone, she proceeded to awkwardly explain to Trebek why she chose General Grant vs. the correct response, General McClellan. “I wasn’t sure… I second-guessed myself,” she stammered, before quickly adding, “Sorry, I shouldn’t be talking now.”
