Mediabank has moved its advertising business to Whybin\Tbwa Melbourne after a pitch that involved incumbent Gpy&R Melbourne, Mumbrella can reveal.
The pitch kicked off in November last year as part of a “best practice review of suppliers”.

Steve Doherty, national business director at Y&R Brands Melbourne, has been promoted to MD of Y&R Group Melbourne.
Doherty will now control Gpy&R, Ideaworks and Vml, which launched in Sydney in February and is set for roll out in Melbourne.
The appointment completes a national restructure at the Wpp agency that saw Naseema Sparks shift from Ideaworks to helm the Sydney group, and the return of Sydney MD Phil McDonald to Brisbane to run the Queensland operation.
Doherty will work alongside Y&R Group Ecd Ben Coulson.
Y&R Brands CEO Russel Howcroft said in a statement: “There’s nothing Steve doesn’t know about our business and our clients. He is a trusted pair of hands, has a terrific new business track record and in partnership with Coulson I think they will plot a spectacular course for our Melbourne business.”...

Patts Melbourne has picked up the digital account for Schweppes after a pitch. The agency replaces incumbent Sputnik.
The announcement:
Schweppes has appointed Gpy&R Melbourne to handle its digital portfolio following a competitive pitch.
The agency has held Schweppes mainstream business for more than 15 years producing internationally acclaimed work for the brand including the multi-award winning Burst.
Gpy&R’s Steve Doherty said the win of Schweppes’ entire digital business was a great win for the agency and reflected the depth of its digital offering, its understanding of the Schweppes business and brands and its capability to deliver multi-platform ideas.
