Tisha is an assassin and organ dealer in a post-apocalyptic world. After doing a job Tisha is asked by her handler to visit an old woman outside of town. The old woman wants to hire her to kill someone at the brothel she once worked at. Once Tisha sees who it is she takes no money and heads out to the brothel with only revenge on her mind. Scavenger is the feature film debut directed by Luciana Garraza and Eric Fleitas. The pair also share writing and production credits with Sheila Fentana. Scavenger is the feature film debut of writer/directors Eric Fleitas and Luciana Garraza and while the movie is clearly a scrappy, low-budget affair, it looks like a pretty promising, under-the-radar Pa thriller.
The movie unfolds in a brutal, post-apocalyptic world where Tisha, an assassin and organ dealer, "seeks revenge for a crime that marked her life."
The trailer doesn't offer much in the way of a plot but it does feature some fairly impressive cinematography and solid production design.
While it's awfully reminiscent in style to Mad Max, I'm rather curious to see how Fleitas and Garraza have made this their own.
Scavenger will be available on VOD on May 11.

Love for genres like Maxploitation and Post Apocalyptic cinema resonates strongly within the LatAm filmmaking community. There are recent additions to the genre like Luciana Garazza's Scavenger, co-directed with Eric Fleitas, but one title I Am Toxic (Soy toxico) from Pablo Pare, has been waiting for its moment to reach out beyond the territory. That time is now. Our friends at Danse Macabre picked up I Am Toxic and are going to release it on DVD in the UK through their new genre label Latin Extreme. It will be limited to just 1000 copies so fans of post apocalyptic cinema need to act fast. Danse Macabre is pleased to announce the launch of its new genre label Latin Extreme with the UK and...

Abramorama has acquired U.S. distribution rights to Soros, the Jesse Dylan-directed documentary feature about billionaire activist George Soros from Vital Pictures. The film, which had its U.S. premiere at the Telluride Film Festival, will get a live streaming premiere on November 18 on the film’s website followed by a release on Watch Now @ Home starting on November 20th. Famous for betting against the Bank of England in 1992 and making a billion dollars in one day, Soros is maligned by ideologues on both the left and the right for daring to tackle the world’s problems and putting his money behind his fight – from free elections and freedom of the press to civil rights for minorities.
Dylan follows Soros across the globe and pulls back the curtain on his personal history, private wealth, and public activism. Soros reveals a complicated genius whose experience as a Jew during the...
