Britain's Prince Edward has officially reopened a famous British theatre yesterday (18.02.10). The prince - who is also titled the Earl of Wessex - was given a tour of the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, which is currently staging its first production after a two-year £15.3 million refurbishment. Dan Bates, chief executive of Sheffield Theatres, said: "The reopening of the Crucible is major boost for the city and the region. We were absolutely delighted to have the Earl of Wessex with us to celebrate.
