With the continued growth and demand for content across the globe on a variety of platforms, marketing/content brand executive, Jay Williams saw a market opportunity to create a multiple platform content studio and in 2015, Jay founded Legion of Creatives to take advantage on the changing marketplace and serves as the companies CEO
With over 30 years of experience in the global content/entertainment marketing arena, Williams is a rare executive who has worked across all platforms of entertainment verticals including film, radio, television, digital, gaming, online, as well as theme parks, cruise ships and resorts. In addition, he has worked with every major motion picture studio in Hollywood on hundreds of marketing campaigns that combined have generated some of the biggest movies and Television shows of the past several decades.
Williams was previously the President of Global Marketing, Digital and Brand Management for K/O Paper Products, one of Hollywood's most successful and diverse television and motion picture production companies, founded by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. In that role, he oversaw all aspects of marketing, digital content, and branding behind the company's many motion picture, television and digital properties, including the Now You See Me Franchise, Amazing Spiderman 2, Enders Game and Star Trek Into Darkness to name a few, his television work included Hawaii FIve-0, Sleepy Hollow, Matador and Scorpian.
Williams served as a senior executive at The Walt Disney Company for over 17 years (1990-2007). In 2000, he was named senior vice president of Global Creative Content for Walt Disney Studios where he oversaw all global content for over 200 hundred of the Studio's live action and animated film slate including, the highly successful "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise, the National Treasure" franchise, "Monster's Inc." "Finding Nemo, and many others.
In addition to his marketing duties, Williams is a former faculty member at the American Film Institute where he taught Entertainment Marketing workshops to producers and he currently teaches at Loyola Marymount University School of Film and Television, where he currently teaches Entertainment Business Affairs and writing narrative for VR to Graduate and Under-Graduates. Williams is also a member of the Producers Guild of America (PGA) New Media Council and Academy Of Television Arts and Science (ATAS) Interactive Media Group where is serves on the Digital Strategy committee.. Williams is a regular speaker at many leading entertainment conferences where he speaks about content, changing marketplace and new technologies like AR/VR.
