- Was an award-winning columnist for the San Francisco Weekly. Created and wrote a popular column, titled "The Man Who Came to Dinner," wherein each week he would dine with and write about a different celebrity or otherwise interesting local personality, including: Gavin Newsom, Colman Domingo, James Cromwell, Mark McKinney, Annie Sprinkle, and a professional dominatrix, among many others.
- Prior to acting and screenwriting, worked as junior executive for ad agencies BBDO, New York and J. Walter Thompson, San Francisco.
- Lived and worked in Ethiopia for 4 years, producing videos for The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, while serving as a Communications Consultant for the Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Agency which the Foundation was helping to incubate and fund.
- Was a contributing writer to David Chang & Dave Eggers' acclaimed food magazine, 'Lucky Peach.' Was commissioned to research and author feature article about egregious bio-piracy case in the Netherlands and Ethiopia, titled, "Grand Teff," published in the quarterly's Summer 2015 'Plant' issue.
