Dua Lipa, Coldplay and Sza are set as headliners at the 2024 Glastonbury music festival, with country music star Shania Twain playing the so-called “legend slot” at the English festival.
This year’s edition will once again take place at Worthy Farm in Somerset in South West England. It will feature a lineup of music across genres June 26-30.
Dua Lipa will make her first-ever appearance on the famous Pyramid Stage debut as the Friday night headliner. Coldplay returns to the Pyramid Stage for the first time since 2016 on Saturday night, which will make the band the first act ever to headline Glastonbury five times. Sza will wrap up the festival as the Sunday night headliner in her Glastonbury debut. That afternoon, Twain will perform at the festival for the first time in the popular “legend slot.”
“Everyone always talks about it being the pinnacle of festival slots,” Twain told BBC News.

Now That was an episode well worth our time!
Debris Season 1 Episode 9 successfully blended a case of the week with George's arrival and delivered a humdinger of an ending.
Even better? This is our first two-parter!
Someone mentioned in the comments section of the Debris Season 1 Episode 8 review that George's addition gave them Walter Bishop vibes, and if you were on the fence about that comparison, Debris doubled down on the feeling.
Interestingly, nobody is on to Finola and Bryan yet as they're doing their best to remain normal. Now is the time when Bryan's past with Orbital comes into play. They need to get George somewhere safe that they can also use as a staging location for George's next pass at the device.
That introduces us to Garcia, a man with ties to Orbital and Bryan and George. The more we learn about Orbital, the more shocking it is...

We have the first trailer for Max Minghella’s debut as a writer-director, Teen Spirit, and I am here for it. I mean, I have questions, for sure. Like, why is the marketing push so heavily focussed on the fact that Elle Fanning will be singing covers of very mainstream pop hits? Is that a thing the world has been clamoring for? And if this is a spin on Cinderella, does that make Rebecca Hall the fairy godmother? Also, I have this (probably totally misbegotten) idea that debut films from writer-directors are intensely personal, so why is Minghella’s first film a retelling of Cinderella in which Elle Fanning sings a lot of covers of mainstream pop hits? I would like to sit down and talk to him about that for seven to twelve hours.
All of that aside, from the trailer this looks like pretty much my platonic ideal of a film,...

What better way to get in the Halloween spirit than ripping demonic nasties limb from limb? Hell Followed, the latest multiplayer Dlc for id Software’s Doom reboot, is upon us, and there’s even word of a double Xp weekend to draw in the crowds.
Priced at $15, the expansion is the second slice of paid Dlc for the gruesome shooter following Unto the Evil. Bundling together three new multiplayer maps (Argent Breach, Molten, and Orbital) along with the Cacodemon, the add-on heralds the arrival of both the Reaper weapon and Threat Pulse equipment, while there’s also mention of additional armor sets, patterns, colors, and taunts. Hell Followed is part of Doom‘s Season Pass, which runs for $40.
To celebrate the Dlc’s launch, Bethesda and id Software will be hosting a double Xp weekend from October 28 at 12pm Et. It’ll run through until Monday, October 31, at which...

Star Wars Battlefront developer Dice has been making some rather substantial and extensive changes under the game’s hood for its February update and frankly, we’re not sure where to start – the list is freaking massive.
Before we start dissecting all of the little, large and much-needed changes though, you’re probably more interested in the new content that’s been added with the patch.
First up is the new Twilight on Hoth map that’s been added to several modes, including Walker Assault, Drop Zone and Heroes vs. Villains. Judging by the map name, expect to be battling it out as the Rebels or Empire in the freezing midnight blizzard that sweeps through the snow-covered planet when the sun (or is it suns?) sets.

With his latest film, Trap For Cinderella, out in UK cinemas now, director Iain Softley talks about film locations, Hackers and more...
Iain Softley is a filmmaker who’s hard to categorise. His career is pretty fascinating, because it’s almost impossible to predict what kind of film he’ll make next. His first film was a drama about the early career of the Beatles, which he followed with an unconventional action movie about computer hackers. Then he made a period drama. Then a weird sci-fi movie set in a mental hospital. Then a spooky horror film, and followed it up with a fantasy movie for kids. How many directors can you name who’ve made a series of films that diverse?

Remakes usually strike whilst the iron is hot when it comes to popular foreign films. The Ring for example came out within four years of the release of the Japanese original and the same with The Grudge. So it’s curious that a British remake of a low-key 1996 Danish thriller should only now be making its way to release. I mean there has even already been a Hindi remake of this for god’s sake.
The release of the remake of Pusher probably has more to do with the current clout of the original’s director Nicholas Winding Refn (who produces here) thanks to the success of Drive. I haven’t seen the original Pusher so can’t comment on whether this is faithful or worthy of the first, however it’s a very different film from Drive and shouldn’t be judged against that film as it does both films a disservice.

On The Road (15)
(Walter Salles, 2012, Fra/UK/Us/Bra) Sam Riley, Garrett Hedlund, Kristen Stewart, Kirsten Dunst, Tom Sturridge. 124 mins
It was the book that defined a generation, but On The Road has taken several more generations to get to the screen, which dissipates the energy somewhat. Added to which, Jack Kerouac's hip prose was never exactly movie-friendly. This is appropriately scenic, sweaty, druggy and ambisexual, but for all the forced bohemian zeal, the road feels rather long and flat. And what once passed for creative hedonism now looks more like male self-indulgence, which is never much fun to watch.
Ruby Sparks (15)
(Jonathan Dayton, Valerie Faris, 2012, Us) Paul Dano, Zoe Kazan, Annette Bening. 104 mins
A dream girl leaps off a blocked writer's pages and into his life in this playful romcom, which takes its Pygmalion-meets-Charlie Kaufman premise into deeper realms than you'd expect. The facts that Kazan wrote the script,...

Mem Ferda Attends the World Premiere of Pusher at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in 2012!
Mem Ferda, who stars in the English remake of the 1996 feature film which propelled Nicholas Winding Refn (Drive) into the international spotlight, attended the world Premiere with Pusher director Luis Prieto and actor Richard Coyle. The sharp, fast-paced, gripping crime film played to a packed audience and was very well received. After the film Mem Ferda was invited to the stage to join director Luis and fellow actor Richard to answer questions asked by the audience. Mem commented afterwards: "this is the first time I have seen the film and I must say I'm completely bowled over by it. Luis has done an amazing job and the cast were simply superb."
