The best way to approach “Race 3” is to forget about the number in the title. This purposefully unhinged masala has as much connection to previous entries in the Bollywood action-thriller franchise as “Halloween 3: Season of the Witch” had to its two predecessors. Also, it’s a good idea to abandon all hope for anything resembling narrative logic. Whatever flimsy ties the movie has to reality and/or coherence are pretty much shredded during a deliriously extended early scene involving the firing of automatic weapons, the ferocity of mixed martial arts, the wink-wink kinkiness of a femme fatale who takes time to slice her hemline with a knife — to facilitate her karate kicks, of course — and the fortuitous arrival of a champion who literally drops into the ruckus after taking a swan dive off a nearby skyscraper in a base-jump suit.

Bollywood churns out on average 120 plus films a year, with 2014 reaching 142. So to think all of them will go down in history as being successful is rather naive. But what about the ones we thought would work wonders but came up short? The ones that left us thinking, “Why was this allowed past the editing board”? Even ones that somehow managed to cha-ching the money registers sky high. 2014 had its fair share of films that fit all these categories. BollySpice brings you the biggest disappointments of 2014.

A.R.Murugadoss blew everyone’s mind when he told a tale of an anterograde amnesia patient desperately seeking revenge for the murder of his girlfriend in Ghajini. Yet when it came to a follow up film, one could say Holiday fell short of all the trimmings to recreate the magic. The writer in Murugadoss failed to see the shortcomings of his story,...

Whichever way you look at Action Jackson, the puns, the slapstick and the lack of plates for everyone to eat on in beginning is all synonymous with a particular kind comedy action masala. The little touches of style maybe what Prabhudheva is famous for and the leading ladies Sonakshi Sinha and Yami Gautham might add eye candy, but there is nothing new nor entertaining for this Ajay Devgn starrer. Besides Ajay of course.
In most cases, you would start with a story. Two guys, Aj and Vishy (Ajay Devgn) both look alike, no relation. One is a small time yet high powered thug. The other doing a runner from his Mafia Boss. Its all comedy and action with a dash of semi-nudity and lots of mini skirt/ghagra thumkaas till the duo join hands for… wait for it… more comedy and action. But would you call it comedy if it...

Seems like the makers of Action Jackson definitely know how to give surprises to their audiences. After revealing the masaaledaar action packed trailer, they released 2 peppy and entertaining tracks which has already been climbing the chart busters.
Now the makers have released the sneak peak of superstar Ajay Devgn’s looks from the film.
The actor will be seen donning 3 looks which are quite distinct from each other. In fact this is the 1st time the actor will be showing off 3 looks in a film.
The 1st Look (Red T-shirt with Glares): The actor will be seen in a stubble and the look is called ‘Naughtily Good‘
The 2nd Look (Blue floral shirt): This is the look where he is shaven and has kept only a mustache and the look is called ‘Romantically Good‘.

Having watched Vikramarkudu a couple of years back and thoroughly enjoyed it, I was a bit skeptical regarding its Hindi remake. For me, Vikram Rathod could only be Ravi Teja (the role seemed tailor made for him) and I prayed that Akshay would do justice to the characters. My only hope was Prabhu Deva, who has quite an experience with remakes, be it Telugu to Tamil, Tamil to Hindi, Hindi to Telugu…
Yes, Rowdy Rathore is your typical no brainer, ‘masala’ (the second most abused term after ‘rom-com’) flick aimed at the masses. Shiva (Akshay Kumar) is a street smart crook who makes his living by stealing. Until he meets Paro (Sonakshi Sinha) and falls in love with her. Having promised to give up his old ways, Shiva suddenly becomes the target of weird happenings as a little girl insists he is her father, a cop keeps a constant watch on him,...

Hollywood has come up with so many movies on memory loss, while Bollywood too has had its share of films which depicted the protagonist losing his memory, Ghajini being the most recent example. But what if someone robs your memory? Quite an interesting thought, isn't it?
One of the advantages of having a GenNext director is, he's ready to take risks, ready to tread the untrodden path, ready to go where no one has been before. But there's a disadvantage too: Visuals and technique take precedence, while story takes a backseat. Prince has a terrific first half, where technique and content go hand in hand, but technique overpowers the content in its post-interval portions.
What surprises you is that Prince is penned by the writer of Race [Shiraz Ahmed] and like Race, Prince too has several twists and turns every 15 odd minutes. But the twists and turns are a mixed bag here - captivating at times,...

Kookie Gulati says high voltage action scenes performed by Vivek Oberoi in his big-budget directorial debut 'Prince' are the film's Usp. He is confident the movie will surprise audiences with its implausible action sequences shot with cutting-edge previz technology in South Africa, Thailand and India.'Previz is the short form of pre-visualisation. It is an animated form of storyboard. I made this previz to show that all those seemingly impossible stunts done by Vivek were actually possible and this is the way one particular scene should be shot,' Gulati told Ians in an interview.According to reports, producer Kumar Taurani has invested over Rs.40 crore in 'Prince'. In the two-hour-six-minute film there is one hour of action.Kookie used animated storyboard - previz - to make his associates understand how he wanted the action sequence to be shot.
