Shiloh Godson is a sound designer, recording engineer, record producer and composer. His fun, unrestricted, unboxed approach to film-making has literally pushed the borders of film sound design bringing the long awaited, highly overdue sophistication and modernisation to sound design and film audio in the African film space. The highly rated sound designer Shiloh Godson has worked on various films including recent projects such as The Oratory, Muniat, Badamasi: portrait of a General and Blackmail (2021).
Shiloh Godson is a Biochemistry graduate from faculty of Basic medicine, University of Calabar 2016 with a B.Sc. Shiloh practiced briefly under the department of environmental health, Obio/akpor local government area, for a few years before focusing on his passion: sound. He went on to study for Vocal recording Technology from Berkeley.
Shiloh began his career while still in high school, handling recordings for business conferences, religious gatherings and Recording and editing audio for radio broadcast stations including Treasure fm 98.5 and Love fm in the southern part of Nigeria. During his college years Shiloh was recording engineer for Shimmag Globals, where he handled recording and engineering for several organisations including Stella World Outreach, a non-profit organisation, he then briefly joined Discovery Studios as a record producer and audio engineer. In 2018, Shiloh joined Smart Don Entertainment where he was record producer and recording engineer in the process of working, Shiloh trained 18 record producers and recording engineers. Although known for his role as a sound designer, Shiloh's work experience includes Sound designer and record producer at Afromediahub studios, where he's been involved in award winning projects.
Apart from sound design, Shiloh is a recording engineer. He has served as sound engineer at arguably the largest gospel concert The Experience Lagos and serves as a sound engineer at The House on the Rock. Corporate bodies have come to rely on the innovative style which Shiloh brings to score production and sound design of corporate videos including Sahara power group and it's affiliates; Ikeja electric, the largest privately owned power distribution business in South Saharan Africa, Egbin Power Plc - the largest thermal plant in South Saharan Africa (with 1,320MW) providing a quarter of the total generating capacity in Nigeria) and First Independent Power Limited. Shiloh has been praised for his latest project on Badamasi. The film Badamasi is a story about the untold stories of the dark and oft hidden history of the Nigerian military era; the coups, plots, betrayals and struggles of a failing system produced and Directed by Obi Emelonye. This epic film had spectacular sound effects that Shiloh Godson was able to produce. The director of the Badamasi wanted an intense soundscape for the renowned Biafran war, coups and dictatorships involving over 100 million Nigerians under an intense military regime. This film was shot in different locations including forests, barracks and on air. Shiloh was able to provide the soundscape that escalated fear, excitement, and jeopardy.
