Former advertising man who contributed humorous articles to The New Yorker and The Saturday Evening Post, before becoming a radio writer for top comedians in the 1930s and 40s. His input contributed to the broadcasting success of shows by Burns & Allen and Bing Crosby. He was later head writer for Frank Sinatra's radio program and ghost writer for autobiographies by Liberace, Bob Hope and others.
