Madelyn Kaplan
- Actress
Madelyn is a New York based actress, singer, and dancer. She recently moved to NYC after graduating with her BFA in Musical Theatre from Oakland University.
Madelyn grew up in Dearborn, Michigan where her love for performing began. She has always had the passion for singing especially if it meant making up opera arias in "foreign languages" at the age of 3. In all seriousness, Madelyn began honing her vocal skills in grade school and joined the Michigan Opera Theater's Children's Chorus where she performed her first professional show on the largest stage in North America. Growing up as a musical theatre kid performing I community theatre, allowed her to learn how special performing truly is. She knew this is what she wanted to spend her college years pursuing.
Even though Madelyn's major was in Musical Theatre, she took plenty of advanced on-camera classes with professor and L.A. based actress Milica "Mila" Govich and many masterclasses and workshops with other film professionals. Madelyn fell in love with all things film. Now you can see her in the web series "Sonder", the feature film Movie Theater Massacre and the short film Bodybag. You may even catch her in a few Michigan based commercials.
Prior to moving to NYC she has spent her summers volunteering for a performing arts camp for underprivileged special needs children and young adults. This led her to write her honors college thesis which was a guidebook for special needs classrooms to implement improv games to improve children's interpersonal skills. She was also seen in the emergency room in Detroit working full time as an Emergency Room Technician living out her Grey's Anatomy, Chicago Med, New Amsterdam, and House dreams. She would love to put those medical skills to good use on the screen one day.
Now in NYC she can still be caught in the classroom honing her acting skills taking classes with Joan Rosenfels and Bob Krakower.
