The Bachelor is making it official...
Clayton Echard has been set as the star of The Bachelor Season 26!
The news may not come as a surprise to some eagle-eyed viewers because it has been heavily rumored since September.
Echard first appeared The Bachelorette Season 18 as he tried to find love with Michelle Young.
Unfortunately, his journey came to an end on that series recently, but hey, at least Clayton is getting a whole season to find himself the woman of his dreams.
If you watch The Bachelorette online, you know Michelle and Clayton had a lot in common, so many fans were surprised when he got the boot.
"You've continued to show me how much you want to be the best for your future family," Michelle said on their final date.
"You completely checked every single box of all the qualities I'm looking for in somebody," Young added.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not watched the Nov. 30 episode of “The Bachelorette.”
In a franchise first, all of “The Bachelorette” lead Michelle Young’s final four were men of color, and she visited versions of their hometowns that production set up within their isolation bubble in Minneapolis, Minn. on the Nov. 30 episode of the ABC dating competition series.
As each contestant — Brandon Jones, Rodney Matthews, Joe Coleman and Nayte Olukoya — introduced her to their loved ones, in a franchise first, the hometowns episode saw families of color consistently represented on the show.
Brandon
Brandon’s makeshift hometown was first, where he was joined with his mom, dad and brother Noah. Noah, who recently enrolled with the Navy, postponed his leave to make the trip to meet Michelle.
Before she met the family, Brandon wanted to show her a bit of home, and they spent the afternoon at the skatepark.

It’s official: ABC has announced Clayton Echard as the next star of “The Bachelor.”
Echard, a suitor on the current season of “The Bachelorette” with Michelle Young, will lead Season 26 of the long-running dating show.
Echard was first reported by Variety back in September to be the new “Bachelor” when photos of him filming with a camera crew were leaked by the press.
At that time, sources close to the show told Variety that producers had fallen in love with Echard during Young’s season of “The Bachelorette,” and keenly had their eye on him to be the franchise’s next leading man, especially after his heart was broken on the show.
Spoiler alert, but on last week’s “Bachelorette” episode, Echard was sent home by Young, resulting in an emotional, tear-filled and gut-wrenching departure, bringing his journey for love with Young to an end — but also setting up...

The Voice was Tuesday’s highest-rated primetime show again this week, earning a 0.7 demo rating and 6 million viewers, per Nielsen fast affiliates. However, NBC’s singing competition fell a tenth in the demo from last week and lost about 9% of its viewership.

Earning the second-most viewers was a rerun of FBI on CBS, which opted for another night of repeats heading into the Thanksgiving holiday. CBS also saw repeats of FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted.
Fox peaked with a new episode of The Resident, down from last week. The medical drama was followed by a repeat of The Masked Singer.
The CW saw The Flash fall from its premiere. Riverdale was steady with its season opener.

The week’s dates had a pattern of normalcy, as they all reflected Michelle’s passions outside the Bachelorette bubble. The fifth-grade teacher brought 10 of her men “back to school” for an afternoon of trivia, science experiments and musical chairs.
Romeo Alexander, a mathematician from Harvard, excelled during the math trivia, while Brandon Jones was mocked for his inability to spell during their spelling tests. But during each challenge, Peter Izzo made enemies for his obnoxious behavior, even being called out by Will Urena as a “narcissist” in front of Michelle.

With many shows dropping every week, The Resident is proving to be a reliable performer for Fox.
The latest episode of the medical drama had 3.2 million viewers and a 0.4 rating -- rising to a season-high in audience.
Our Kind of People, meanwhile, was up a bit in total viewers, but steady in the demo.
The freshman drama had 1.4 million viewers and a 0.3 rating. Unless the show is a big hit in delayed viewing, it will not get a backorder.
Over on NBC, The Voice dropped quite a bit to 6.5 million viewers and a 0.6 rating in the demo.
La Brea, meanwhile, held up, hitting 5 million total viewers (for the third straight week!), but the show inched down a tenth in the demo.
As previously reported, the series is a huge hut in delayed viewing, so it will be around for a while yet.
New Amsterdam took a hit in the 10 p.

‘The Bachelorette’ Season 18 Snags Series’ Premiere Low, Tops Tuesday Demo; ‘The Voice’ Wins Viewers
The Bachelorette is back in full swing for fall as the reality series returned to ABC for its 18th Season. Last night’s two-hour premiere introduced teacher Michelle Young and the numerous men set to compete for a shot with her at the Indian Wells Resort in Palm Springs.
Opening to a 0.7 demo rating and 2.84 million viewers in fast affiliates, The Bachelorette Season 18 topped Monday ratings but also marked a premiere low for the series. Last night’s opener was down from the Season 17 premiere in June, which previously marked the series’ all-time premiere lows, and also down from the Season 17 finale in August. Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe returned to the host seat after Chris Harrison stepped down from duties following racism controversies.

Michelle Young's The Bachelorette contestants weren't sleeping on the chance to make a first impression. On Tuesday, Oct. 19, Bachelor Nation fans met the men competing to impress the schoolteacher, who was the runner-up on Matt James' season of The Bachelor, which aired earlier this year. As viewers know, the limo exits typically produce plenty of wacky—and at times head-scratching—moments, and tonight's season 18 premiere was no exception. The arrivals included such props as a backpack, a basketball and a beaded necklace, with the necklace being an intended gift for Michelle that she ultimately refused to accept. Among the odd vehicles to pull...

Spoiler Alert: Do not read if you have not yet watched the October 19 premiere episode of “The Bachelorette.”
“The Bachelorette” began its 18th season with leading lady Michelle Young at its helm. The fifth-grade teacher from Minneapolis, Minn. returned to the reality dating franchise after appearing on Matt James’ historic season of “The Bachelor.”
Michelle, who is biracial, agreed to be the Bachelorette in hopes of finding love like her own parents. After pep talks from her mom, dad and hosts (and former Bachelorettes), Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe, she prepared to meet her men.
Several suitors were given intro packages: Chris Sutton, a Los Angeles transplant from the South; Joe Coleman – who, like Michelle, is a biracial Minneapolis resident and loves basketball; Clayton Echard, a former collegiate athlete (and likely next season’s Bachelor); and Nayte Olukoya, who loves road trips with his dog.

The producers of ABC’s The Bachelorette really love the idea that their Season 18 leading lady Michelle Young is a teacher. It’s a theme the show played up Tuesday night by opening the premiere with Michelle’s fifth-grade students in Minneapolis asking her how many boyfriends she would have and how many dudes she would kiss.
Many of Michelle’s suitors also took a cue from her profession, with guys like Rodney, a sales rep from Southern California, stepping out of the limo in a red apple costume. But it’s a good thing Michelle wasn’t grading the...

It looks like Nayte Olukoya just scored some major points with Michelle Young. The teacher and former Division I basketball player gave him her first impression rose during the season 18 premiere of The Bachelorette on Oct. 19. Nayte was actually the first contestant to step out of the limo and meet Michelle. "I just want to say I'm, like, so happy to be here with you right now," he told her, "and I'm looking forward to seeing if you and I have what each other's looking for." They shared a hug, and he made her giggle with his pickup line. "Before we start this journey," he continued, "I just want to say, 'It's better Nayte than...

Michelle Young will not ignore red flags during her tenure as the Bachelorette. During the season 18 premiere on Oct. 19, the 28-year-old Minnesota resident proved this to be true by giving one suitor the boot well before the evening's rose ceremony. The drama all started when co-hosts Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe made surprise visits to the new contestants' hotel rooms. Though their check-in with environmental consultant Ryan started out strong, Tayshia and Kaitlyn found themselves worried about the suitor's motives when they found his playbook on how to succeed on The Bachelorette. Clayton Echard has made his Bachelor Nation debut. On Tuesday, Oct. 19, the upcoming Bachelor for season 26 was formally introduced to viewers on Michelle Young's season of The Bachelorette. In the introduction package teasing Young's season 18 suitors, Echard popped up with a segment that screamed "Will you accept this rose?" For instance, right out of the gate, Echard highlighted that family is the most important thing to him, calling them his "rock." "I have two younger brothers," he continued. Most reality TV stars don’t juggle press tours with creating lesson plans — but most television personalities aren’t elementary school teachers. Meet Michelle Young: the new star of ABC’s “The Bachelorette,” who teaches fifth grade and has no plans to leave her life as an educator to chase fame.
While Young — a contestant from Matt James’ season of “The Bachelor” — was in Los Angeles to fulfill her promotional duties for Season 18 of “The Bachelorette,” which premieres Oct. 19 at 8 p.m., she was remotely working on lesson plans for her students, who she says get a kick out of her new gig as a TV star.
“They think it’s cool. They want to know the details and they’re like, ‘We won’t tell anybody!’ I’m like, ‘You sound like reporters!'” Young tells Variety with a laugh. “Maybe there are some future reporters that I’m seeing in my classroom.

Harrison’s full departure from the franchise became official shortly after the new season premiered.

Insiders tell Variety that there are no discussions about Adams and Bristowe filling the permanent role, but there is a possibility they could return...

ABC is doubling down on The Bachelorette in 2021.

The compelling, controversial and chaotic 25th season of “The Bachelor” came to a startling end as Matt James offered a non-proposal, which led into an awkward “After the Final Rose.”
At the outset, Matt contemplated his final week with Michelle Young and Rachael Kirkconnell. He said Michelle checks off a lot of boxes, but Rachael pushed him to tap into his emotions. Meeting with his mother Patty and brother John, he reminded them that he did indeed sign up to not only find a wife but to be ultimately engaged. He also felt confident in the decisions he had made thus far. “It’s exciting to see you so animated, happy and expressive” Patty said. “I can’t wait to meet the girls.” Patty felt it was a “long shot” Matt would be engaged at the end of the competition, but she still vowed to offer her opinion while trusting...
