Camara Fairweather is a biracial writer and artist from the United Kingdom. He has previously worked for BBC Three and flagship programs such as Newsnight. Penguin editor, Eloisa Clegg, wrote that 'Camara has a very subtle way of writing that is all the more powerful for its delicacy.' Award-winning author and playwright, Antoinette Moses, called Camara 'Sophisticated and powerful. A writer with tremendous potential.'
At 18 years old, Camara began a production apprenticeship at the BBC. He spent two years working on culture, current affairs, drama, and documentary programmes.
In 2018 he began studying English Literature and Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia in Norwich. While studying, he wrote the short film 'Darling' with his brother Mykea.
In 2020, Camara was long listed for the award-winning Penguin WriteNow programme.
