Amritanshu is an award-winning filmmaker and writer. He has won multiple awards in fiction and non-fiction category in various international and national film festivals.
He started his filmmaking journey with his first short film Chahat Ke Gubbare(2017) which premiered and won title of Best Short Film at the 23rd Kolkata International Film Festival and also won Best Comedy Short Film by renowned international NGO, 'Filmmakers Without Borders'. Film Aid, an international organization that uses film as a form of aid to help downtrodden communities worldwide has screened the film in the world's largest refugee camp, Kakuma and Dadaab Refugee Camp in Kenya, at its 11th Annual Film Festival. Amritanshu has also been recognized by Dhaka University Film Society for his film.
His psycho-thriller short film, Aghatit(2020) premiered at the Lift-Off Global Network in New York and also screened at the Crime/Thriller Festival by Wild Sound in Los Angeles and at venues such as the Yonge-Dundas Square in Toronto.
His documentary film, Grey(2018) premiered at Filmmakers Without Borders where it was a semi-finalist and later screened at the 9th Kashish Mumbai International Queer Film Festival. He has also worked in mainstream Hindi cinema as an Assistant Director/Chief.
