The severity of the emotional trauma experienced by any victim of physical or emotional abuse is so heinous and ghastly a crime perpetrated by the sinner that unless one scratches the outer layer of the victim’s psyche, one never gets to know the brutality or the cruelty. In dealing particularly with a sex crime, there are several ramifications that overrule and throw out several fundamental causes and leave a permanent impression on the victim. For one, incest continues to be a taboo subject and interferes with any wounded sufferer’s mental health some of which lead to numerous personality disorders.
Child abuse or incest is not a subject often discussed and deliberated upon both either in public or within the narrow confines of our secure homes. And since it is such an offensive and unmentionable issue that it’s considered forbidden.

Article 370
I have just witnessed history. Director Aditya Suhas Jambhale’s Article 370, has that rare stamp of excellence on every frame that differentiates the pulpy propaganda of the Kashmir and Kerala kind from a film that actually has its research in place and is so focussed in telling a gripping though authentic story, that it forgets there are people out there, lots of them, who don’t want to hear the truth.
The truth, my beloved nation, is not always sugar-coated in cinema. Nor does it need to be unnecessarily brackish. Not that Article 370 takes the middlepath. Far from it. The film is crafted with the diligence of a Kashmiri carpet, at the same time it conveys the smooth moves of a shikara on Dal Lake. Even when a bomb goes off, there is no stopping absorb the shock.
Am I eulogizing a work that takes off from Frame One...

The Vaccine War
Directed by Vivek Agnihotri
Apart from Raima Sen’s over-the-top villain’s act as a journalist who has sold out to the American cause, the characters in The Vaccine War are tenable and almost uniformly restrained and believable.
Unlike the last time when many of Vivek Agnihtori’s critics felt he went overboard in demonizing Kashmir’s anti-Pandit drive, this time Agnihotri makes the arching endeavour to show the birth of India’s first Covid vaccine as a celebration of women’s empowerment.
Admittedly the women , excluding Raima Sen in her vamping avatar, are gracefully portrayed. Pallavi Joshi and Girija Oak are reasonably effective as scientists toiling at the Indian Council of Medical Research to bring out an Indian vaccine in a run against time that became headlined in a section of the press as a battle between over-ambition and efficacy.
Portions of the storytelling are admirably constructed,...

Goodbye
Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Neena Kulkarni,Rashmika Mandanna, Sunil Grover, Pavail Gulati, Ashish Vidyarthi, Elli AvrRam, Sahil Mehta and Shivin Narang in supporting roles
Written & Directed by Vikas Bahl
Of late there have been other filma on a death in the family like Ram Prasad Ki Tehrvi and Paglaitt. In spirit, Goodbye is closer to the former, though the only similarity between the two films is a sudden death in the family. In Ram Prasad… it was Supriya Pathak coping with the death of her husband and the drama of push and pull of interests that follows.
Amitabh Bachchan in Goodbye as Harish Bhalla, the patriarch of thea family is a bristling bundle of ire and sarcasm. His abnormal aggression at his loss targets all his children especially the daughter Gayatri(Rashmika Mandanna). The two are continuously at loggerheads about the rituals to be followed after the mother Neena Gupta’s death.

After the last episode got over, and the song 'Bematlab' started playing, and I was crying. I was wondering why I started crying since I had only played the character. I could feel Astha's pain and journey. I am grateful to the audience and my fans for showering their love, blessings, and support," she said.

Quite simply, this is your show if you were missing Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi, or Dekh Bhai Dekh, or Sarabhai V/S Sarabhai.
Rohan Sippy's Sandwiched Forever brings back an era of sitcoms that you would think got buried somewhere beneath loud family melodrama and toxic reality TV. The show harks back to a time when fun on the tube was a lazy deal, about simplistic characters playing out the simplified quirks of life in a feel-good set-up, with canned laughter for impact.
This is the story of Naina (Aahana Kumra) and Sameer (Kunaal Roy Kapoor), a young couple starting out in life. It's ‘opposites attract' for the two, actually -- Naina, feisty and full of life, would seem like the perfect foil for her absent-minded and admittedly lazy other half Sameer, a game developer.
Naina and Sameer are very much in love, but their woe lies elsewhere - their parents,...

Hollywood agency ICM Partners has come on board Rohena Gera’s festival favorite “Sir” and will represent it for sales in Anglophone markets U.S., U.K. and Australia, among other territories. The Hollywood agency will also serve as the film’s awards season lobbyist.
A delicately observed study of class differences in Indian society, “Sir” stars Tillotama Shome as a domestic live-in help with Vivek Gomber, a man from a wealthy family who seems to have it all, but is somewhat lost. As their worlds collide and the two individuals connect, the barriers between them seem only more insurmountable.
The cast also includes Divya Seth Shah, Geetanjali Kulkarni, Bhagyashree Pandit, Anupriya Goenka and Bachan Pachera.
“We have a very intimate yet hierarchical relationship with the people who work in our homes,” Gera said. “I wanted to explore that without being preachy, and a love story allowed me to do that.
