Ibrahim Bugla
Ibrahim Bugla is one of the stars of 'Wild Abu Dhabi: The Turtles of Al Dhafra' in his first presenting documentary appearance. He is the Unit Head of Marine Assessment and Monitoring at the Environment Agency-Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates where he leads a team of passionate scientists pursuing positive outcomes for biodiversity in the hottest sea in the world, the Arabian Gulf. Ibrahim and his team regularly monitor the critical habitats - coral, mangroves and seagrass - and species - turtles, dugong and dolphins, in this extreme environment - a natural climate change laboratory -with their work assisting in the conservation of threatened and endangered species. Ibrahim Bugla is an 'all action' Unit Head - you will see him in the documentary catching turtles for satellite tagging, with the results presented in the documentary showing where these Green turtles go to nest. Ibrahim previously worked as a pearl diver, before being a pilot, but loving the sea more than the sky he has recently returned to his passion - the sea, where after becoming a Scuba diving Master Instructor, he now works in the field of conservation.
