YouTube has teamed up with Bailey Sarian to pay homage to one of its most enduring formats: The “get ready with me” (Grwm) video. Sarian’s video traces the origins and growth of the Grwm trend, which has now reached six billion lifetime views on YouTube.
Sarian’s tribute to Grwm videos is a textbook example of the format. While donning one of her favorite gothic looks, the true crime creator gives her viewers a lesson in YouTube history.
Grwm videos date back to the early days of the YouTube beauty community, when gurus, “haul girls,” and other colorful characters turned their makeup routines into storytelling devices. Sarian’s video highlights a few of the pioneers who popularized the Grwm format, including Eva Gutkowski and Amanda Steele.
As the 2010s rolled on, Grwm videos moved beyond beauty, with creators like Jenn Im and Amanda Castillo leaning into the format’s narrative possibilities.

Jellysmack has made a multimillion-dollar investment in creator commerce platform Fourthwall.
Founded in 2019, Fourthwall bills itself as an “all-in-one monetization platform” where creators can design their own homepages, digital shops, and membership programs for fans. It works with creators like Cody Ko, Marques Brownlee, Philip DeFranco, Simone Giertz, and Charlotte Dobre, and to date has processed over one million orders for them.
Jellysmack, meanwhile, partners with YouTube creators to re-optimize and distribute their videos across platforms like Snapchat and Facebook.
Jellysmack’s investment is part of Fourthwall’s third venture round. The companies are not disclosing exactly how much Jellysmack contributed, but say Fourthwall has now raised over $25 million total.
The duo did say that Jellysmack’s investment includes an exclusive partnership where it and Fourthwall will “bring new business opportunities in e-commerce and memberships directly to Jellysmack’s roster of creators.”

Adults want to, too. A poll from Morning Consult found that 54 of Americans from the ages 13 to 38 would become an influencer if given the opportunity.

WME: As Podcasting Mega Deals Flourish, Agents Discuss Shifting Landscape & Opportunities For Talent
The podcasting business used to be considered the Wild West of the entertainment industry but as mega deals such as Joe Rogan’s $100M deal with Spotify and Amazon’s $300M acquisition of Wondery show, it’s quickly maturing.
WME represents the likes of Malcolm Gladwell, Ronan Farrow and new stars such as Bailey Sarian in this space, and three of its podcast agents — Travis Dunlap, Marissa Hurwitz and Chelsea Kreps — are overseeing the talent agency’s drive into audio.
In a wide-ranging interview, the trio discuss the current state of the podcasting business, the growing appetite for exclusivity, increasing opportunities and new buyers moving into the market, consolidation, the potential for scripted stories and A-list talent entering the space.
Last week, sex and relationship podcast Call Her Daddy, a show repped by UTA, became the latest audio series to sign an exclusive deal with Spotify for around $60M. It...
