- Jacques Faizant was born on October 30, 1918 in Laroquebrou, France. He was a writer, known for Oublie-moi, Mandoline (1976), Première nouvelle (1956) and Astres et désastres (1945). He died on January 14, 2006 in Paris, France.
- Contributed more than 30,000 cartoons to French newspaper Le Figaro before failing health forced him to retire late last year in 2005. His work caricatured French leaders from General Charles de Gaulle to President Jacques Chirac.
