Dave Mustaine will release a new book detailing the making of one of the group’s high water marks, their 1990 album, Rust in Peace. The volume, which Mustaine titled Building the Perfect Beast and co-wrote with Joel Selvin, is due out September 8th, according to its publisher, Hachette Books.

Former Megadeth drummer Nick Menza's mom is now calling the shots for his estate, and we've learned what caused his death. Nick's mom, Rose, filed legal docs to be named administrator of the estate, which means she's now in line to collect any royalties owed to her son ... who spent more than a decade with Megadeth in its peak years. As we first reported, Nick died after collapsing onstage last May during a gig in Los Angeles.

Nick Menza's onstage death had nothing to do with drugs, it was a massive heart attack ... TMZ has learned. Law enforcement sources tell us autopsy results revealed heart disease in the 51-year-old, and also confirmed a working theory -- that this was not your stereotypical drug-related death. Officials searched the scene and interviewed people close to the former Megadeth drummer -- who died onstage Saturday -- and concluded Menza had no recent history of drug use.

Nick Menza, best known as the drummer of Megadeth in the 1990s, died Saturday, reportedly after collapsing on stage during a Los Angeles concert. Menza, 51, was playing drums with his band Ohm at The Baked Potato on May 21 when he suddenly collapsed during the third song of the set, CNN reports. Paramedics were unable to revive him. The cause of death is unknown at this time, and Menza's manager did not immediately respond to People's request for comment. However, his manger did tell the BBC that Menza collapsed onstage and was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Nick Menza, former drummer for the metal band Megadeth, died late Saturday after collapsing on stage during a concert with his new band Ohm, CNN reported. He was 51. Ohm manager Steve Bauer told CNN that the band was playing the third song of a set at the Baked Potato club in Los Angeles’ Studio City area when he collapsed.
