Joshua Pyram is a classically trained actor, singer/songwriter, dancer, and proud Brooklynite. He has performed in a variety of off-off-Broadway shows nationally and has been active in his career as a performer for over two decades. For 4 years, he has operated as the executive producer of two short films, an original scripted sitcom series, and has hosted two online game shows.
On November 18, 2020, Pyram founded a small production company based in Brooklyn, New York called 350 Studios LLC. 350 Studios is one of the very few black-owned production companies based in the heart of Flatbush, Brooklyn. The company services local NY talent (actors, dancers, or musical artists) and small businesses with either professional reels, low to no-cost headshots, Creative Content Consultation, and access to a remote recording studio. They also provide video editing services and assist with data management of small to large-scale media projects for local businesses in New York or abroad. The company is powered by Blackmagic Design Hardware and Software.
Alumni of Midwood High School, Pyram has had extensive years of performing and producing shows on stage. Starting with the famous program SING!, for which the TV show GLEE was heavily influenced, he remained consistent in his HS involvement with his commitment to their annual school musicals and drama plays. After graduating he decided to receive his musical theatre training at the renowned HBCU Howard University, in Washington D.C., and has gone on to perform in many notable works that include Sarafina! (Ensemble), Passing Strange (Youth), Company! (David), Spunk (Sweet Back/Slemmons), Little Shop of Horrors (Orin Scrivello D.D.S.), and the One-Minute Play Festivals of New York City. During this time, he also received his first national award as a member of the Howard University Step Team.
Under the tutelage of the late Darius Smith and Iyona Blake, Pyram is a classically trained vocalist but continues to create original music with deep Caribbean and R&B influences as a pianist and drummer. A first-generation Haitian-Dominican, he has fluency in French/Creole, and can a major lover of dancing Merengue, Bachata, and Kompa.
After his training, Pyram also went on to complete a degree in Cultural and Linguistic Anthropology at Brooklyn College. As an anthropologist, he traveled to countries like India and China where he applied these skills to study language, cultural identity, and community theatrical storytelling through eastern ideologies. Along the way, he also picked up a keen eye for photography and video editing. He became passionate to share his comedy, life stories, personality, and charm on his personal YouTube channel.
As a proud brother of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., he commits much of his time towards national community service and the academic achievements of young college students in and out of the country.
