- For several years in the 1960s, George Cukor spoke about directing a film based on her novel, "The Nine-Tiger Man". He came quite close to it after winning his Best Director Oscar for "My Fair Lady", which was also his biggest-ever box-office hit, and at one time intimated that Robert Shaw would play a leading role in the proposed film. However, no film of this book has ever eventuated.
