It's a Beautiful Day
- Soundtrack
As one of the many bands that emerged from the San Francisco music
scene in the late 60s, they showed great promise with their eponymous
debut album, including the classic song "White Bird." They might have
achieved much greater success with a mainstream audience if they hadn't
been passed over for an appearance at Woodstock, when the concert
promoters chose the then unknown
Santana instead of them. They were
lead by violinist David LaFlamme
and his wife Linda LaFlamme, who played
keyboards and co-wrote much of their material. The band released three
studio albums before essentially disbanding, although they have
occasionally reunited from time to time since then.
