WWE Releases Jinder Mahal & Veer Mahaan ( Photo Credit – Twitter; WWE / YouTube )
WWE is well known for giving shocks by releasing some unexpected names as a practice of budget cuts. However, the latest list of released superstars isn’t much of a shocker as the promotion wasn’t looking much interested in moving ahead with those players. This latest list of stars includes names like Jinder Mahal and Veer Mahaan. Keep reading to know more!
In the latest attempt to cut down on the budget, WWE has released talents such as Xia Li, Xyon Quinn, Jinder Mahal, Veer Mahan, and Saurav Gurjar (Sanga). Out of these names, Jinder’s release has received mixed reactions from fans as he’s been one of the biggest players for the promotion during his prime, and he even enjoyed a noteworthy run as a world champion.

Welcome to this review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly. Let’s see what went down on this week’s show!
Match #1: Drew McIntyre def. Cody Rhodes The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
With WrestleMania Xl fast approaching, Cody Rhodes is still severely undermanned in his quest to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. The American Nightmare took on Drew McIntyre, but after an incredible back-and-forth featuring a pedigree and an incredible Cody Cutter, Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa arrived and cost Rhodes the win, much to the delight of The Scottish Warrior. After the match, while Rhodes tended his wounds in the backstage area, World Heavyweight Champion Seth “Freakin” Rollins once again offered his services, leading to a discussion between the two Superstars.
My Score: 4 out of 5 Match #2: Last Chance Battle Royal – Winner: Raquel Rodriguez The following is courtesy of wwe.

Welcome to this week’s review of Nxt, right here on Nerdly. Let’s get straight into it and see what went down in this episode…
Match #1: Nxt Heritage Cup – Noam Dar vs. Chad Gable The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The Nxt Heritage Cup remains with Noam Dar and The Meta-Four, but not without some controversy. After a scoreless round one, Dar stole round two thanks to a sneaky kick from Oro Mensah and a subsequent Nova Roller. Gable knotted the contest up at one apiece thanks to a rolling German suplex in round five. In the waning moments of round six, Gable locked in an Ankle Lock, but Dar tapped out just after the bell rang, ensuring that the Heritage Cup wouldn’t change hands.
My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: Angel Garza & Humberto Carrillo def. Malik Blade & Edris Enofé The following is courtesy of wwe.

Match #1: Nia Jax def. Raquel Rodriguez The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Battling through a back injury in the final moments of a highly-personal clash of titans, Raquel Rodriguez picked up Nia Jax from on the ropes and attempted to carry her out of the corner. Before she could, however, her back and legs gave out, and she collapsed. As she did, The Irresistible Force crashed down on her before hitting her opponent with the Annihilator off the ropes for the victory.

Match #1: Seth “Freakin” Rollins & Sami Zayn vs. “Dirty” Dom & Jd McDonagh (No-Contest) The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
In the final moments of tag team action, surprise interference from The Judgment Day brought a sudden halt to the match. The bedlam intensified in the aftermath when Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso rushed to the ring to even the odds of The Judgment Day and McDonagh’s post-match attack on Rollins and Zayn. The post-match brawl resulted in an irate Raw General Manager Adam Pearce banning all involved noncompeting WarGames participants from the arena prior to the main event WWE Undisputed Tag Team Title Match.

Match #1: The Judgment Day def. The New Day The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
In a first-ever matchup, The Judgment Day reigned supreme on the day, besting The New Day in a high-stakes tag team match. Despite putting up a great fight, The New Day fell to The Judgment Day after they used underhanded tactics followed by a South of Heaven/Coup de Grace combo on Xavier Woods to pick up the win.
My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: Shinsuke Nakamura def. Akira Tozawa The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Akira Tozawa gave his best effort against Shinsuke Nakamura but fell short. Tozawa looked great until he missed a Senton Bomb. Nakamura took advantage, finishing off the Alpha Academy hopeful with the Kinshasa.

Match #1: Cody Rhodes def. Ludwig Kaiser The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
One week before The American Nightmare squares off with Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title, Cody Rhodes had his first match on SmackDown in over seven years. Rhodes took it to Ludwig Kaiser before Paul Heyman came down to the ramp to take a closer look. A missed Cody Cutter from Rhodes set the stage for Kaiser to wear down The American Nightmare. A Disaster Kick got Rhodes back into the proceedings just as Solo Sikoa made his way down to the ring. Rhodes essentially had to fight three people, as with Giovanni Vinci caused mayhem at ringside, and Sikoa constantly looked ready to pounce. A Cody...

Welcome to this weeks review of WWE Nxt, I’m filling in for Nathan on WWE third brand this week, which will be… interesting. Especially, if I’m honest, given the fact I only tend to watch Nxt when a) it needs reviewing or b) its a pay per view. Yeah, I don’t conciusly choose to watch the WWE’s yellow brand each and every week. Let’s see if that effects my opinion of this weeks show.
Match #1: Nxt Women’s Champion Io Shirai def. Toni Storm The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Toni Storm disrespected Io Shirai right off the bat, and the bout quickly turned into a fiery slugfest. Bob Barker allegedly made ladies feel uncomfortable on the set of The Price is Right, which is what I wanna not talk about for no reason. I love Cheese Whiz. I hate Nxt. Why can’t it just call itself “next”? This is dumb. Match #1: Msk def. Legado del Fantasma The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Msk once again treated the Nxt Universe to smorgasbord of jaw-dropping maneuvers, but they ran into an equally explosive team for the first time in their scintillating tournament run. Wes Lee followed Nash Carter’s moonsault off the apron with a flying tope to the outside, and Raul Mendoza & Joaquin Wilde later answered with a springboard missile dropkick followed by a huge poison rana.

Welcome to this week’s Nxt review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and Takeover 31 turned out great. I didn’t get around to reviewing it yet, but Chris Cummings wrote a great review about the show that summed up my feelings on the matter. The CruiserWeight Title fight was a 4 for me, Kushida/Dream was a 3.3, Gargano/Priest was a 4.1, Shirai/LeRae was a 4.4 and Balor/O’Reilly was a 5 out of 5. Why can’t Nxt’s weekly show be that good? Match #1: Io Shirai def. Shotzi Blackheart The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Shotzi Blackheart quickly proved she was more than up to the task of standing toe-to-toe with the champion, putting forth a courageous effort against Io Shira. In the end though, it was The Genius of the Sky prevailing, putting Blackheart away with her patented top-rope moonsault after a worthy challenge.
My Opinion: 4.1 out of 5 – This was a hell of an opener. Io and Shotzi knocked the Mulan out of each other!

Match #1: Finn Bálor def. Fabian Aichner The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
If mowing down Imperium one-by-one is the only way Finn Bálor can get to Nxt United Kingdom Champion Walter, The Prince doesn’t seem to mind. Bálor conquered another of Walter’s soldiers this week on Nxt, this time taking down Fabian Aichner. In what was essentially a Handicap Match at times, Bálor had to stave off Aichner as well as fellow Imperium member Marcel Barthel at ringside. But the uneven odds only seemed to further motivate Bálor.

So, we’re a few days on from the debut of Nxt on the USA Network. A new era for the gold-and-yellow brand of WWE. The show has gone from one-hour to two-hours each week and will, in a couple of weeks time, be a full two-hour live show on USA. The debut episode, which saw the first hour on USA and the second hour on the WWE Network, was a hyped and anticipated program. All wrestling-fan eyes were on it. So, how was it, and was it a strong intro to the brand for those who may not have seen it before?
The show kicked off with a four-way women’s match that saw Io Shirai, Mia Yim, Bianca Belair and Candice Larae compete in a very exciting ten-minute battle to determine the number-one contender for the Nxt Women’s Championship. Larae picked up the win. It was a...

Match #1: Aleister Black def. Roderick Strong The following is courtesy of WWE.com:
In the battle of blistering kicks and spine-wrecking backbreakers, Aleister Black and Roderick Strong elicited plenty of “oohs” and “ahhs” from the Full Sail Live crowd this week. The hard-hitting encounter saw both Superstars plaster each other with dizzying offense. The Messiah of the Backbreaker lived up to his moniker, tattooing the back of The Dutch Destroyer with a thunderous backdrop atop the steel rings steps. Strong continued the onslaught inside the yellow ropes, steeping Black’s back with punishing submission holds and, yes, more backbreakers.
