Heather was in Australia’s squad for the Odi leg of the Women’s Ashes and retained her spot for the tour of Ireland as a replacement for pacer Megan Schutt, who has gone back home after the end of the multi-format trip to England.
“Graham will remain with the Australian team in Ireland to commence her rehabilitation before returning to Australia to continue this with Cricket Tasmania,” said CA in a statement.
It added that the injury also means Heather won’t take part in The Hundred in England, where she was supposed to play for the Northern Superchargers. Tess, on the other hand, had recently...

Southampton, July 17 (Ians) Despite losing the chance of winning the Women’s Ashes after a three-run defeat to Australia in the second Odi at the Ageas Bowl, England captain Heather Knight said the ongoing series has been “the best series there has ever been in the history of the women’s game”.
Vice-captain Nat Sciver-Brunt hit an unbeaten 111, but it was not enough for England to chase down 283 as they finished at 279-7 in their 50 overs. England needed 15 runs from the final over, but Jess Jonassen held her nerve by conceding 11 runs for Australia to retain Women’s Ashes.
“It was an unbelievable game again, wasn’t it? It has got to be the best series there has ever been in the history of the women’s game. Two sides going toe to toe, fighting it out and every game has been pretty close.”
“The way Nat played was unbelievable.

Cape Town, Feb 26 (Ians) Australia are Women’s T20 World Cup champions once again after beating South Africa by 19 runs in front of a packed crowd at Newlands, here on Sunday.
Beth Mooney top-scored with 74* as the world’s top-ranked team posted 156/6, and a brilliant bowling display saw South Africa stifled in their chase, with the Proteas falling short of their target.
Their victory means Australia have now won six Women’s T20 World Cup titles, and they have completed a ‘three-peat’ under the captaincy of Meg Lanning, winning in 2018, 2020 and now 2023, reports Icc.
Tasked with defending a target of 157, Australia’s bowlers throttled the scoring rate of South Africa’s openers at the start of the reply, conceding just 22 runs in the Powerplay and with in-form Tazmin Brits sent back to the dugout by the electric Darcie Brown.

Cape Town, Feb 24 (Ians) Following a tight five-run win over India in the first semi-final of 2023 Icc Womens T20 World Cup, Australias left-arm spin all-rounder Jess Jonassen said the side being on the right side of the result showed their resilience and belief within the group.
By stopping a stern counterattack from Jemimah Rodrigues and captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Australia managed to seal their place in the Women’s T20 World Cup final for the seventh consecutive time by restricting India to 168/7 in response to their 172/4 at the Newlands Cricket Ground.
“Alyssa Healy brought us together and was saying there’s a few people who may have thought that we coasted through the group stage in the World Cup, but today’s (Thursday’s match) effort proved that we could get the job done, whatever way.
We had our backs against the wall, we were down and out for a large part of that bowling innings.

Cape Town, Feb 23 (Ians) A spirited counterattack from captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues went in vain as Australia entered their seventh Women’s T20 World Cup final with a five-run win over India in the first semifinal at Newlands Cricket Ground on Thursday.
After Australia’s big players stepped up to make 172/4, India’s top three aggregated only 15 runs among themselves. Harmanpreet and Jemimah rose to the occasion by making 52 and 43 respectively while spearheading the chase with a brilliant 69-run stand off 41 balls.
But the duo falling in 4.2 overs post the ten-over mark meant India could never recover from it and ended up at 167/8 in 20 overs, falling so close yet so far, once again. India would also look at their sloppy fielding efforts and dropping two crucial chances apart from conceding 61 runs in the last five overs.

Cape Town, Feb 22 (Ians) As expected, India have made it to the semifinals of 2023 Icc Womens T20 World Cup in South Africa. But to get their ticket to the final, scheduled on February 26, they must overcome the challenge in the form of mighty Australia in the first semi-final of the competition on Thursday.
Australia, also the defending champions, head into the semi-finals as firm favourites, especially with a 3-2 upper hand over India in Women’s T20 World Cup matches. Moreover, Australia got the better of India in the 2020 T20 World Cup final and Commonwealth Games gold medal match last year.
Australia had also won a five-game T20I series in India 4-1, apart from a warm-up match victory earlier in the month. But they will be wary of India’s giant-killing instinct, a glimpse of which was seen when they secured a thrilling super-over victory in the second game...
